I can’t believe anyone is still defending this guy. He’s been horrible, and he just cost us another one by not calling strike 3 twice. Hell, he may now cost us the game

He had been a good consistent ump all week until the last 3 innings tonight. The last 3 were garbage.

The Ump ruined an otherwise great game. Its

Time to use technology and stop this ******** because it seldom goes our way. Three pitches cost us the game.

Literally have been wanting to choke that ump for the last couple of innings. Thank God I'm not there....I might be on my way to the pokey. I hope that bastard watches a replay and realizes he ended some kids dreams himself.

Let me say what it this way so that it is clear. What he has called a strike may or may not have always been one BUT he called it the same way every inning, with every pitcher... until the last three innings and the last two balls to the lead-off hitter, were ridiculous simply because they had been strikes all night.

I am not saying he is a Louisville fan.
I am not saying he hates MSU.
I am saying he did not do his job at the end of the ball game.

That's funny because that is what I said. IF he calls any of three pitches a strike that he has called a strike all night, Cole is pitching with 2 outs for the save.

I say he's a lousy umpire. Is this the best we have to offer in the CONFERENCE?

Evidently, the CWS is not like MLB where you have to earn a spot.

Look, no one is going to ump a perfect game and I could not do it myself... but all you ask for is to keep a strike zone consistent so that the pitchers and hitters can adjust and do their thing. That was one of the worst CHANGE of balls and strikes I have ever seen.

I wish I had the time and ability to go back and screen capture three specific pitches and email them to that 17er and whoever is in charge of his dumb *** the rest of the year.

IBleed, I don't think I've been as mad at a umpire in my life. I watch mlb and all the state games this year. I hate it for Mangum, Gordon and the rest of the team. That's a real shame to have it end like this

No, just run of the mill ncaa quality

This is the truth. Even in years when I watch the CWS without us involved, it's pretty scary how many of these umps would rather be somebody's hero or villain than call a competent game. I mentioned Costello screwing Arkansas in another thread. I doubt he went into the game with the intention of screwing Arkansas, but they got on him early and he decided to prove a point. The ump tossing the Louisville reliever for a pretty tame comment without a warning and the 1b ump who yelled at MacNamee are a couple more illustrations that these guys are more about their own egos than officiating. The SEC is full of them as well; Tony Manners comes directly to mind.

The guy should have been out #1 but ump could not call a strike that he has called all night and he is still doing it.

But you are welcome to see it your way.
The ump did the same thing with Liebelt. The first two batters in the 7th both had third strikes called balls, just like the lead off guy in the ninth with Gordon.

When the announcers are making comments about the changing strike zone, you know it's bad.
