I will try to post a position group every couple of days. Feel free to discuss offensive/defensive philosophy as it relates to the players, or anything else that might apply. Talk about solidifying an inexperienced group last year. He comes into this season as the unquestioned leader of our defense. He caught a lot of flack before the season for being a tweener and astonishingly somne people continued to doubt him as the season wore on. Well, I am a believer. At 230, he is plenty big for the position. While he might not be as fast as Chris White, I believe he makes up for it in situational knowledge/awareness and his ability to diagnose plays. Now, if this were NCAA football on the PS3, I would probably move Lawrence to outside and Skinner inside, as they seem just perfectly suited for those roles from a size/technique standpoint, but I dont see these guys every day in practice and Skinner could be one of those guys that just can't dodge the scrum in the middle of the field. Skinner stepped up in a big way at the end of the year, as I expected him to. I look for 2 big seasons out of him. The other spot is less settled. So unsettled, in fact that I think Richie Brown will have a legitimate shot to get some PT there. He is already bigger than Hughes and Wells and just looks like an outstanding football player. I will be interested to hear how Holmes, Bohanna, Jackson and McKinney do this spring, because they are all guys that have some potential. </div><div style="min-width: 0px; max-width: 99%; font-family: Tahoma, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); ">
</div><div style="min-width: 0px; max-width: 99%; font-family: Tahoma, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); ">2015 and the 4 year Outlook</div><div style="min-width: 0px; max-width: 99%; font-family: Tahoma, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); ">Brown and Brown really saved our butts in terms of depth and development. Next year looks like another prime opportunity to bring in a JUCO LB to replace Lawrence, barring some rapid development from our current stock. I simply dont know what we should expect out of Holmes/Bohanna/Jackson/McKinney - they are the wildcards. </div><div style="min-width: 0px; max-width: 99%; font-family: Tahoma, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); ">

I agree with you on the projected starters. It will be interesting to see how much Fletcher was opening up for these guys, but Cam is a damn good football player, and will have a huge year. I do think McKinney is going to push Wells hard forthat spot. Can't wait to see him(McKinney) in the spring. If Skinner makes half the improvement he made throughout last year, he'll be a beast. I refuse to believe that one of the greatest names ever in Ferlando Bohanna isn't going to be a stud for us at some point, but I haven't heard any rave reviews on him so far. Can't wait to see who emerges out of that list of young guys.

is that if Bohanna has developed to the point that our best 3 would be with him in the middle and Skinner and Cam on the outside. I would say this is probably a stretch though because that could have been the combo last year but the coaches felt better with Wells on the outside than Bohanna in the middle.

I thought he'd step up this past year, but didn't.....it's a matter of when, not if......he's going to be the next LB we put in the NFL. He's a beast.

He played well as a freshman coming in on certain situations. Him being in trouble early last season seemed to really affect his development. That and also the fact that he backed up Cam who basically played every defensive snap.

to be a little small and doesn't get off blockers as well as he needs to. I think his development is one of the keys to this group being better than it was<div>last year. We also don't need any key injuries such as Cam. I think Geoff Collins proved he knows what he is doing last year and that helps me feel</div><div>better about this situation than it looks on paper.</div>

does and we don't get hit by big injuries then I believe LB will be a very solid part of a damn good defense.

he has NFL potential, but i don't think he's the next LB we put in the league. If Cam continues his rise to be among the SEC's best LB's, you don't think he gets drafted? I think he does.

i'd like to see him play some there this spring. ss is really an unknown to us this year. is it dee or hughes or do we move one of the corners to fs and whitley to ss? bodies aren't an issue, it's just finding the right fit.
