I know a very good 2027 LHP from Boston who is really hoping to hear from Coach. He was invited to a camp at UNC this summer, but he couldn’t make it because he was with his travel club at a tournament. His dad texted me last night with a new video of him. He’s really good, so I hope Coach reaches out.

No information here just a guess that with the portal and roster limitations he wants a better chance to play early?

I would say decommits come in all shapes and sizes. Many reasons for both sides of the equation.

A lot of kids commit super early and never develop beyond that. Some blow up and want to look elsewhere for personal reasons.

He has fallen down the rankings in SC and I haven’t heard anything about him across the state since he committed. He flashed early but, don’t think it has held over time. Probably a combination of him making a smart choice and some honesty from our coaching staff

Prep Baseball Report has him as #227 overall nationally, #57 at his position in his class . #9 overall in his class in Illinois, #1 at his position. His 60 time has dropped from about 7.4 to 6.7. Looks like he's grown a couple of inches and put on about 20 lbs.
