I would hate this. It would spell the end of the ACC most-likely (as it would spur movement from Clemson, Duke, UVA, etc. most likely), and it would take away a century of Duke-UNC and UNC-NC State.

Conference Realignment sucks.

Louisville would be better off in the B10 if the ACC were to fold, or back to where they started, in the OVC :)

not really news. UNC is a guarantee to the SEC and has been since the last major conference shift. Also coming will be Clemson, Virginia, possibly VT, Florida State, or Miami. They're going to want the Clemson / USC a southern rival and probably should be. Florida State doesn't really want the SEC it seems so they might float to the BIG. But UNC and Clemson are locks to the SEC and have been. Remember when ESPN talking basketball heads lost their collective sht about 2 year ago when speaking of the conference shifts that were taking place? That was all the end as they knew it of the DUKE / UNC rival game and UNC bound for the SEC. They knew the ACC was finished 2-4 years ago.

I'm ok with UNC coming on (although I wish nothing changed with conferences to begin with) .The UK / UNC game will be an incredible rival and with the way we play, much better than the DUKE UNC game. It will become the premier game in the nation. It also sends Duke to the BIGEAST likely where they will absolutely not be given the same platform. I want them to die and with these conference shifts its the best way to make that happen as they have zero shot at the SEC. We will likely not endure the DUKE / UNC ESPN nonsense anymore. I doubt they play in that scenario, maybe every now and then but probably not yearly. It's a manufactured rivalry and needs to take a seat.

UNC will have to make big commitments to football with this move, ensuring basketball likely stays at a tier lower than their typical Blue Blood status. We won't be able to manhandle the conference like the past and I do wish things had stayed without the shifting, but if it's going to happen bring them in and let's erase the ACC along with Duke. UK / UNC premier game it is.

countdown for the ACC.

I’d be all for UNC. Add Duke and perhaps two others.
Hell to the no. Duke has no shot at the SEC and we wouldn't wan that anyway. Imagine Duke with an SEC tag, with ESPN promoting them in conference (would be 50 times worse than it is now), with NIKE selling DUKE to SEC and the national position they'd be in with the SEC tag. Throw in their commitment to basketball like ours and putting them on a level field with us no way. Duke isu extremely powerful because of about 3 factors. We need them to be left out and we need them in a bottom tier conference. Duke is dangerous to us for historical reasons. And you put them in the same conference as UK WITH UNC? ESPN would see to it we don't add up to that. It would be horrible and probably hurt us bad.

A program like Duke is a serious threat. They need to be eliminated. One of my favorite aspects of the conference shifting (which I hate) is Duke has the wind taken out of their sails if UK and UNC are the premier conference game and Duke ends up BIGEAST or one smaller than the big 2. Duke had a shot at climbing and they decided to neglect their football program for 30 years. They've tried to catchup but it's too late. K hurt those chances years ago.

I wouldn't be surprised to see two of UNC, Florida St., or Clemson move to the SEC. That said, I miss the smaller conferences of old. Playing a home and away game every year against most of your conference/divisional foes used to be fun.

But what would the conferences do without extra millions? My God man, they might go broke! those guys have to maximize or they don't eat.

Do you think we have neglected football here in Lexington? Is it too late for us to ever catch up? Duke & UNC will be in the SEC before Clemson, NC State, FL ST, or VT. Duke and UNC will NOT be split up. TV will not allow that rivalry to go away, it gets too many viewers and is the most profitable game to sell advertising each year in college basketball.

You are totally wrong and it's already a foregone conclusion. "TV" what is that? The contracts WILL make that rivalry go away. Duke is 100% not coming to the SEC that I can guarantee you. It appears you don't seem to understand how much of this works.

Kentucky didn't neglect football the way Duke did. Duke was aware they needed massive upgrades over 10-15 years ago and didn't do anything about it. They have made strides of late, but it's nowhere near enough. Duke football in the SEC, that's funny.

Nothing I've said is a shock. But if you believe Duke would ever be invited to the SEC you're dreamin my man. In no world would that happen. Duke football has no market and contributes nothing. And Kentucky would block Duke every single day of the year. UNC is headed to the SEC and Duke is 100% not. You paying attention? They've been breaking up rivalries all over the country. This is no exception.

That’s exactly why I don’t want UNC in here.

Absolutely no Duke time for them and ESPN to cool off from each other and experience some down to earth situations like everybody else.

Eventually, every team will join the SEC. It will be 1 super conference containing all Power college programs.

We will then need to divide the conference into "divisions."

This "divisions" will be the same as the conferences were 5 years ago.

The NCAA will cease to exist. And the SEC Will be the governing body of all college sport.s

I agree. Don't understand hating so much you want the ACC to go away. The sport is better with more conferences that can compete.

Also, we are beyond regional conferences. We should add Boston College and Arizona State and Kansas. Big Ten could add Florida State and Arizona and Texas Tech. Make it look like NFL and MLB over NBA setup.

All for it if it means the ACC implodes and UL has to go back to the AAC, C-USA or Big East 😂😂
The SEC is Full but if it must be then I prefer:

North Carolina – SEC
Clemson – SEC
Florida State – SEC

Miami – Big Ten
Georgia Tech – Big Ten
Virginia - Big Ten

NC State – Big 12
Virginia Tech – Big 12

Duke – Big East

Louisville - American AC

I don't think the Big 10 would take them. Their academics are not up those standards. BTW, that's not a jab at Louisville. Ours aren't either. Just saying.

I would think the SEC would take an even number of teams

It will be 100% driven by football as always but UNC makes sense to me. I'd assume one of the Virginia teams as well. Then if you go to 20 you got Clemson and fsu or fsu and Miami or Miami and Clemson I'd assume.

I would love to see a basketball conference formed and UK be the flag bearer.

Let the football team be independent.

All basketball schools in the basketball conference.
