Ive said it for the past 3 weeks. Its always to someone, never to a vacant spot on the floor to make them move.
Their setter is much better than ours.
We gotta replace May next year and improve our service and passing if we want to take a next step
Tough rotation at the end of the match, Hampton got a kill to get to 22-21 but then was rotated into the back row and didn't get another swing.
Malone had a swing for the set at 25-24 but couldn't get it down. A good season, everyone but May is eligible to return.

Been much more fun to follow this team since the coaching change. Wins against SMU, UTEP and taking #1 Pitt to 5 sets were big highlights this year.

Avery Scoggins just announced shes leaving Arizona. Sure wish we could get her back home in NC.
BYU Setter Alex Bower has entered the portal. Watched a few matches this year and she is very, very good. Go get her Mike!!
Mike is not going after a setter UNLESS Cozza transitions to a libero...which honestly....I think she could. I do think since we run a 6-2 we will keep 3 setters on roster.
i dont think Boehlinger is ready to step into the libero spot. Her serve and serve recieve are iffy. I would like to see a junior/senior libero out of the portal who can mesh with the upperclassmen on the floor.
Markham, our freshman coming in is good, but will need time to adjust. if I had to guess a lineup next year, I would go:
S: Behrendt, Cozza
OH: Hampton/Malone
MB: Jackie, Lauren
RS: Thorpe/Smith
L: transfer

We need an upgrade at M2 and Behrendt is not one of the two best setters on the team. If we're not going to address those two areas, we're not going to see much of a difference in our season.
The biggest area of need is passing. I think we do need more middle attempts but those cant come without a better serve receive. I agree about Zoe...I just dont see Mike pulling her.
On the libero front there is some mutual interest between Hasbrook from OSU and UNC.
Mike should be filling all needs, which should most definitely include finding a better setter for our returning arms next season. We had a great season, Zoe and Sienna did their best. But after it was mentioned here about setting woes (I think against UL), it was all that I noticed. There wasn’t much consistency from our setters, which makes this season all the more impressive.

SEC all-freshman team 2024. She was ranked the #8 Librero by Avid Volley in the preseason
She played a key role in the Gamecocks upset win over UNC, our worst lost this past season.
finished 4th in the SEC in digs per set in 2025
Pretty easily too, Won in 4 sets against both Stanford and Texas.
Im just getting into volleyball, so this may be a crazy question or I just dont understand the metrics. But how does Hampton not even get honorable mention by the AVCA?
Hampton earns WCVN HM All-American (I think this is not a recognized voting body, though?)

Taylor and Schutter TIED for 1st in the ACC in blocks per set (conference games only) at 1.49 each.
May was 5th in digs.
We did not have any notable offensive leaders, but that is in part to running a 6-2 and having 4 viable hitters running in and out and each getting significant swings.

I just saw an article that said Wisconsin has 5 players to enter the portal. 2 setters and 2l. I hope we can get one of them.
