Look man, Show will fight his own battles, I won't do that, but he's a passionate DUKE fan. Not saying you two have to agree but we are ultimately on the same team. He just has his own style as do you.
Yeah, laced with board rules violation which is have combed through the and reported

Experienced talent is a nice way of saying undeveloped players in this day and age.

Yep. As it's been pointed out , Roy has highly-rated kids that are either over-rated , under-developed or purposely held back. Roy's on record saying crap like , "We don't expect any early departures this year etc." Five minutes later Reggie Bullock bolts and JP Tokoto leaves tellin' the world how his game wasn't developing and he wasn't being utilized properly. Year after year , MORE of the top recruits in the country spend MORE time in school AT unx than ANY other place. Hole fans are kiddin' themselves if they don't think that's become common knowledge among recruits. Rival coaches would be stupid NOT to use it against 'im and they do. Add in looming sanctions and that's why unx is what they presently are. And keep in mind...unx has spent over 10 million dollars , in part , to salvage this season. They don't win it all ( not guaranteed even WITH the most talent. Last year's UK team says , "Hi." ) and things could get ugly for a year or two. I wish Roy hadn't got the extension...I wish it had been a lifetime contract.

Let's get this thread back on track. It's about UNC (and Roy:)) going down in flames!

Do you know what kind of night it was for Roy? It was a 3 frickin' night! I read the transcript of his post game presser and he used frickin' 3 different times, as well as dadgum 3 times! Ahh yes, fun times these are!:D

For those unx fans claiming a foul on the UT player. Foul on Johnson. Lulz...

Wow. Didn't even see that.

During his tenure at UNC, he's had good enough talent to win another championship, but his lack of ability to adjust to his talent has kept them from that
While I agree that he doesn't adjust to his personnel enough, there are always several teams that have good enough talent to win the championship every year, and more often, he bends the talent to his will and creates a better team than the talent would indicate. I'd say that is particularly true in his post-Barnes recruitment years.

I had the rare occasion of watching a game in a bar last night, as my oldest kid had a b-day party to attend on the other side of town, near the CH border. Everyone else was pulling for UNC, so it was extra sweet seeing them go down.

I have a hard time seeing this UNC team win 6 in a row against high level comp. Their saving grace is how down college bball is in general compared to last season.

You banned him?

You didn't get to read the posts that he deleted. Unfortunately for him, those posts are still seen by the moderators. I had about 20 "reports" from posters when I logged in last night. Trust me, if you had saw the posts you'd know why he was shown the door. Besides, he's a poster who used to post here under a different handle and was banned previously.

I saw that replay, it was all Brice Johnson.

Yep. Watching the vid it's obvious that Johnson's sole focus is on the UT guy. Goes right after 'im. In doing so he gets more of Paige ( WAY more! ) than he does the opponent. "Peripheral vision" and basketball smarts aren't his strong suits. If the situation had called for 'im to dunk , scream , hang on the rim and try to posterize a defender he'd have had more success.

There'd be little need to ban if everyone used the 'ignore' function on obvious trouble makers. I had forgotten that person existed.

YES! It's a beautiful thing. But some people only want drama. I never understood why you would want to go to a team board and fight with people who are there for the same team. Not everyone is going to get along, but do everyone a favor and ignore people you constantly disagree with.

I've got to say this and sometimes I can get sarcastic but this time it's just the way it is. Heel fans in the Northern Iowa game without Paige, the game being away and no matter how bad the officiating was you should have won by 20. With the Texas game no matter how bad you thought the officiating was and still being an away game you should have won by 20. You guys have the most experienced team in the country with excellent talent and a deep bench. You should have been pre season #1 and should be undefeated. There is no excuse for not winning the NC this year. But if you guys aren't whining about the ref's you are whining about HOF Coach Roy Williams and his inability to motivate this team. You've got to whine about something instead of just manning up and taking the defeat. I'll tell what I'd be doing. I'd be in some of the boosters ears and come up with a buy out and start talks with Shaka Smart. He had your coach in his back pocket. I welcome any response from any Heel fans who can come up with why UNC really has lost these 2 games to inferior teams. OFC

How far do they drop with their second loss to an unranked opponent?
I watched and enjoyed the outcome. I think a better question is "how much does Texas rise in the polls........they did not play like an unranked team.
Smart has UT playing " smart " ball.

IMO, UNC's A game still looks a lot better than the A game of most the teams I've seen this season. However, the perpetual problem with Roy's teams over the past several years is that they just don't play with enough defensive intensity & toughness on many nights. I think that's clearly coach-related. In the 05-09 period, I think that issue existed as well at times (see UNC's incomprehensible final four appearance in 07-08)-- but it was a lot less noticeable b/c the talent-level within the program was so high that his teams could regularly win with mediocre performances (relative to their ability-level). That just not the case anymore. Also, while I was never a Hansbrough-fan, I do think he clearly added a toughness and edge to those UNC squads from 06-09 that helped with their consistency.

Someone. please retell the story how or why Hansbrough stayed 4 years.........A good story for an in state/in conference rival to bring back.

Well crap ! Since I posted the other night I've been gone. Went surf fishing with my daughter all day today. I missed all his comments. He's quite the crybaby. At any rate, I really and truly wanted to get a 100 dollar bet in on the Heels to win it all this year. Not that I think they will, but because....I love that 100:1 ratio he so stupidly offered. Dukiejay, I'm sorry it caused you the work, my bad.

He filed a load of complaints on my language? I said "***" . Once. Well, if you're still reading unlogged , pay attention to our next lunch meeting before a game. Stop by and I'll give you a spanking in front of the fellas before tipoff.

Back to the thread, the Heels won't lose 12, they won't even lose 8. They'll win some big games and lose a few silly ones, it's what Roy does. I think we split with them this season. I also think Roy's time is almost up, really interested in who takes that over.

Shaka would be on their radar if he has success at UT.

I think the Heels lose double digits this year. I've seen the last 2-3 games they've played and they don't look all that impressive. They look the same as last years team only older.

Not sure I agree with that. UNC looked fantastic against a very good Davidson team. What actually surprised me about their performance that night was how much pressure they put on the ball, and how much Davidson struggled just to get decent looks at the rim. UNC also played pretty well against Maryland. While the Texas game clearly exposed weaknesses, I don't think that game was indicative of how they're playing. If anything, UNC's problem against Texas was they weren't able to make their intensity / defensive focus travel outside of the Dean Dome.

I don't see them losing eight....but I hope I'm wrong. Besides, losing their final game is the most important one.

Comparing Davidson to Texas is just absurd. Duke plays a mediocre State team and we struggle but he next night State loses by 40 to Forsyth Community College. UNC is not that great. They are hyped up by the media to shine light on their supposed stellar season and away from the hammer fixing to drop on their sports program. The biggest problem is that they drink the Kool-Aid and are told they are Carolina and certain things will happen because they go to school there. I'm getting off subject since this is for another thread. Honestly, I wish they'd lose every game. GTHC-GTH!!!
