Any of those 4/5 matches were very lose-able so winning 5 of 6 is really good. Root and Platt maybe with the best wins out of tha group. Root gave it all he had and came out on top. Really earned it. Platt reversed the result in the dual.

There is a reason you don’t want to have to wrestle true freshmen. Both scored 0 points for the team. Looking forward to what they eventually do, but should not have needed them this year.
Ventresca seemed early on both TB starts, we only challenged the 2nd one
Tough losing a match 2-2 on riding time criteria. Ventresca is tough, and Terukina looked good against him. Needs to win his consolation semi, to probably get last year’s national champion from state.
Evan Henderson just won the match from the corner with a challenge, Simcox wins 6-5!
Great match by Simcox, after giving up the early takedown. As TAHeel pointed out, Evan thru the brick for the head gear grab with 8 seconds left in the match.
This is the point where it’s helpful to remember that the 5 wrestlers that won the 4/5 quarter finals are rewarded with a match against the 1 seed. Halfway thru the semis we ware still in 3rd place, but about 20 points behind Stanford and Tech. We are 7 points ahead of state.
Hepner with a huge sequence at the end of the 3rd going from almost on his back to a 7 point move! Great work!
Big win for Hepner after his wrestling the last few weeks. We have dealt a couple of blows to state, and dook in this tournament.
Loved Carrigan‘s effort against the returning acc champ, and Dailey looked good knocking off the 1 seed
