I'm the sixpacker that just gets on here and enjoys getting the scoop on MSU sports, I'm not the guy that stirs up rumors but... Without giving away too much, I work at a business where I have to wear shirt and tie. A member of the athletic department came in talking business with one of my supervisors and gets to talking football, one thing leads to another and he mentions and uncle brett has atleast inquired about getting a skybox for the 4 years that dylan will be on the team. I know you all wondered if he would even come to the games.. I guess if he's coming he's gonna come in style.</p>

I'm impressed.

Dumbass.

Nobody is surprised that Brett Favre would request a skybox. Except you with your shirt and tie job.

Go away.

You really think he was trying to impress you with his work attire?

If Favre is getting a Skybox (I would hate to be the guy who gets pushed out) then that will give us great press during every home game. They will be zooming in on him and talking about how he is the greatest QB of all time, still winning superbowls at 40.

How would one go about applying for one these so called "shirt and tie" jobs? I am currently working a "shirt" job.

But to get an entire skybox for what amounts to essentially 24-28 games is pretty surprising. I'm sure he knows that Dylan probably won't see the field until he pulls backup duty in a blowout 2-3 years down the road so that is a major commitment made by him (if the rumor is true).

I'm pretty impressed that you were not surprised by this rumor. Or where you just trying to be "cool guy" and rip on a new guy's first post?

Your trying too hard.

and while most of his post was solid and not worthy of the hazing, the "shirt and tie" comment would definitely have been enough to draw plenty of ire around here. Perhaps you went about the "hazing" in a way that lacked humor, but the replies to your post here definitely show the influx of former GPers or just people who don't get where this board came from in general...

Unless you are a long-time NFL veteran QB with enough money that buying a skybox would be like you or me getting a Netflix subscription.

I hope there's lots of upward mobility and potential big payoff down the road in that job.

I would figure Brett would be on the sidelines if he is at a game, while his brother, etc would use the skybox. One is just as good as the other for State.

It would be great to roam the campus on gamedays and run across Brett. I could see the Ninja pulling some sneaky stunt to get him to his box unnoticed.

I appreciate you guys that are trying to get them to cut me some slack but I have been reading Sixpack for a long time now and expected nothing less. I even read over the post to try and avoid it but I obviously missed that one. I made my bed and now I will lie in it. You may continue...

to use on football weekends the next four years. By the time his accountants get through costing the skybox and probably a house as some sort of business expense/investment it won`t cost Brett as much out of pocket as most of our season tickets cost us.

edited to add: whenI say family I mean Dylan`s family and aunts uncles grandparents etc

I suspect that all he has to do is get in touch with him, and Byrne could let him use his skybox. Probably get him a sideline pass as well. And doesn't Dan have one for his wife? I could see him letting Brett use his as well.

I know Roy Oswalt got into a skybox at the Egg Bowl- I don't know any details, though. His family could have possibly owned it or something.

but surely it is for Dylan's family to enjoy. Brett may make the USM games or maybe one a year, but I don't see him becoming even a semi-regular attendee. I sure would be pissed if I had been putting up ~$40k plus ticket price every year for a box and get bumped out by a USM fan coming to see his nephew ride the pine.

until we expand again- which will be very soon, and certianly while Dylan is at State. It doesn't matter if we don't have one available next season because Favre will probably RS unless Russell and Relf go down with an injury.

I'm sure that there's a waiting list for skyboxes, but I'm 100% sure that the Ninja would allow Favre to have one for a few years because of the publicity.

Brett is planning on playing a couple of more years and I doubt he'd buy one for anybody. That is not Brett. I do think he'd love to come to a game or two if Dylan was playing but I don't think Brett will get a skybox or any housing.

All we need is our own personal Archie-Eli drama throughout each broadcast each time Dylan takes the field. Assuming he takes the field, that is.

That affects your credibility...just saying. Uncle Farve will be watching Henig II sitting on the bench, Brunetti will be the man, Tyler Russell will be gone!

The boxes are on multi year leases and the last I heard there were none available. I understand there's a waiting list of folks that want one and this demand is the main funding source for the next expansion.<div>
</div><div>But, as with anything, if someone came with a big enough check, I imagine someone would give there's up.</div>

You don't think the Ninja would let Brett Favre hang out in his skybox? Knowing that there is free publicity along with that?

You are aware that LT is gone, right?

Absolutely the ninja would allow B Farve to sit next to himin the MSU box on the 50, i am talking about paying for his on suite. Unless we expand, none available.
