Unfortunate timing. I would like to have that ball. Wouldn’t pay that much though. Don’t wish the man any ill will. Very thankful he pulled the right strings that year to get us the championship. I wish him success elsewhere.
Yeah, $150 was a bit much for me to pull the trigger. They also had a Jans signed basketball starting at the same price, a Lebby signed football that I think someone bought for around $200, a cowbell signed by all three, and a couple of Jake Mangum items.

There’s not a signed anything - by anybody - that’s worth $150. Unless of course the object itself is worth that much right out of the box.

Years from now it will be worth more because the ill will felt now will be forgotten and he owns our only NC.

I might have written in a lowball bid just to see if they took it.

I'm at a fundraiser tonight, which includes a silent auction component. One of the items up for bid is a Chris Lemonis signed baseball. Starting bid was $150. Bidding has closed, and no one bid on it.
I won a ball signed by our resident midget during his disastrous 2nd run in the mid 2000’s. I tried to give it away multiple times with no takers.

Finally, I just started getting it signed by other players. Raffy and TA, so far…. Hope to keep getting more!

I guess it's just me. I would like to let's say own the last ball used in the Natty in Omaha. But to me an autograph makes it no more special at all. Autographs to me are perplexing. So what somebody picked up a pen and wrote their name on something, why is that impressive or important? In this example him signing it would make it less desirable for me because of what happened afterwards

I understand your point. I don’t know why, but I like autographed memorabilia.

It might have been worth $150 if it had some other significance. If it was a game used ball from the 2021 CWS final for instance. Otherwise it's just a signed ball from someone you can easily obtain for nothing.

Wanna bet?
Panini just released the Caitlin Clark collection of autographed items. Included were 4 Iowa jerseys at $600 a piece, other limited jerseys at $1100 a piece, autographed pictures, basketballs, Fever jerseys for $700 or so.

They all sold out in minutes and were going on ebay for twice the price.

Something is worth what someone will pay for it. Those autographed jerseys are worth more than $600 otherwise you would still be able to buy one. They were underpriced.
