I know this is a pointless discussion topic, but anything to whipe the front page from threads started by goat grindin and extremedawg. So my question is, why have college football coaches moved from wearing suits, blazers, ties, etc..... During games to looking like they just rolled out of bed. I always thought that it was a great tradition of the game to see that growing up. Thoughts?

I think it's because college football has went away from the older, traditional type of coach like Sherill, Stallings and others to younger coaches who don't like to wear white shirt with a tie and a hat. Although, I would like to see many of the younger coaches dress up a little. Also, I hated that damn letterman's jacket Mullen wore last year.

Nike,Adidas, under armour, etc. pay lots of money to have those logos displayed to market those products. How many State fans have you seen wearing that white half zip MSU Adidas top Mullen wore during a few games? I'd venture to say its probably written in our contract with Adidas that Mullen is required to wear such gear on the sidelines, to take it a step further I imagine Adidas sends him specific things to wear. (including that ugly *** grey wool looking Letterman style jacket, he sported during one game this year).

And the tradition has continued. I think it fits baseball for some reason. I agree that football coaches should wear suits.

Remember that Jack Del Rio wore suits on the Jags sidelines sometimes. I heard he actually had a clause in his contract with (I think it was Reebok, but I might be wrong about that) whatever sponsor that he could wear a suit (with no logo of course) for a certain number of games per year.

I personally like it when they wear suits too. </p>

Against the NFL's deal with Nike requiring coaches to wear sideline gear. He intentionally picked the ugliest thing Reebok had in the collection, and then cut the sleeves off to boot.
