Union put a shellacking on Alleghany County at Emory & Henry tonight. Final 45-0! I won’t be surprised if Union ends up in Salem mid-December.

I don't know what Alleghany lost or had coming back or what kind of season they are expecting to have, so it's hard to tell exactly why the margin was what it was.
Union does have lots of experience all over the field and played lights out.
Dandy QB for the Cougars. Didn't get to pass much but he's quick as a cat. Avoided multiple sacks and ran well on designed runs.

Know the Union coaches were extremely excited about this group, based on what we received on our preseason survey form (and we have them coming up in our Top Ten Preview on the site)... could be a war with them and the defending State Champion G-Men of Graham in Region 2D. Then a distinct possibility the winner sees Glenvar in a showdown in the State Semis.

Wow. That's a shocker as far as the score. Surely thought Alleghany QB Jordan would run for a TD or 2. Union must be stout on defense.
Unions gonna kick a lot of as$ this year and if we dont come to play, they won't just beat the GMen, but they will beat us by 2 TDs. Gonna be a good one with the Bears and GMen. Might have to favor Union over us with that performance against Alleghany. Even if Unions favored, the Bears will have its hands full against the GMen.
Union will be the early favorites, but we all know how Graham only gets better as the season goes on, it seems to be their M.O.
