You know everybody says fired college football coach is the best job in the world. And yes, those guys are rich. But being an agent for all the college football coaches really is better. Coaches are rich, Sexton is wealthy.

No way. Mullen ALWAYS manages to give away at least one game per season, usually at least 2 from horrific clock management, overly-conservative play-calling and/or stupid crap like running Perkins up-the-gut into the teeth of the defense 3 times in a row, each time with no gain or a loss.

IMO, Mullen has a high floor, but an elevator that never gets to the top floor. That would never fly in Baton Rouge.

Megan Mullen, is that you? I was there wearing our traveling whites amongst the Corndog SemiFaithful for that game. The cute LSU gal that called us “Tiger Bait” in the 1st quarter blamed it all on The Hatter. It wasn’t because of anything Mullen did or didn’t do. In their minds, it was all because their staff at that time was was bad.

Yes. His shelf life in Baton Rogue would be shorter than Kelly’s. He’s already shown he can’t handle a Top 5 job. Good coach. Great developer of talent. Marginal at recruiting

They didn’t fire Brian Kelly to hire Dan Mullen. Saw a video with Joel Klatt. He says he thinks their first calls will be to Urban Meyer & Nick Saban. They won’t bite but you make the call. Then Dan Lanning. If they can hire Notre Dame’s coach they can probably hire Oregons. Then Lane Kiffin. He also thinks they’re willing to pay $15M per year.

A one or two loss LSU team makes the playoffs every year.

I think Mullen would be a good hire. He somewhat stands his ground with a "dictator" style of head coaching. He "coach speaks" at a high level which would keep the corn dog / acadian / coon as*es (I can say that b/c I have LSU/LA ties, so it is a term of endearment to a people I value).......and frankly, he pics a good fight (ie school up north............He is not a "coach by committee" he is the dictator style.....I can see this working for them.

Yea. He did good by what we would ask for. Not so much for what Florida did. And LSU would want more. They damn sure are not going to go 8 years without beating Bama. And they are going to want frequent playoff appearances.

After the last three games, I just hope that whoever they end up with doesn't in some way bring more disappointment to State fans.
