From Rod Walker's blog:

Some things of note:

1. Harrison Central is still the #1 school in the state population-wise even while spinning off West Harrison (over 1000 students).
2. Vicksburg moves to 6A.
3. West Harrison and Lake Comorant enter MHSAA competition as 5A schools.
4. Just how many 1A schools play football? Maybe 30?

But now anyone that is any good leaves town. Xadrian Shelly that plays for Baldwyn actually went to school at Saltillo till his parents let him go to Baldwyn to play for them in high school.

1. Quite a few new schools were created in the past few years.
2. The attendance spread among schools in the same classification had gotten larger.

Had good coaches & a good group of jrs & srs those 2 years, including his son Baylor, at QB. (He was the North QB in the Blackwell all-star game & went on to ICC & UNA)

They won 16 games spanked some pretty good teams(Amory & Baldwyn w/Mr Barnes). Got punked in the playoffs, though. 2 road losses to Pearl & Lafayette Co

Ridgeland hasn't grown up to a 6A school yet.

My dream district for the Suburban Jackson District would be

Madison Central
Clinton
Brandon
Pearl
Northwest Rankin
Ridgeland
Terry
Florence- I couldn't find another large school to stick in there to make eight.

They've not done well against higher classification football teams and they'll likely be in a region with Bay Springs, Taylorsville, and Mize.

Poor Red Devils.

I don't think that it matters that much because USP is one of the smaller 6A teams and they have no problem competing or anything like that.

Having two eight team districts would suck.
