And no, you do not have to allow 16 teams or 12 teams or whatever. Making the playoffs used to mean something. Now a 3-7 team makes it? I know this gets brought up every year but this is aggravating.

Appomattox is also know as The Depot. The have a Railroad Day Festival every October. Bring the train horn on.

I thought the Amherst game would be a tight game for them but they ran all over the place. i think they are as good if not better than last years team and I'm not even a fan. I don't know what Richlands has this year but that was the only team who gave them a test last year and I wonder if it would be the same again? I would like to see that. Well, you may want to take a look at Graham. Graham has MORE speed than Appomattox. I am not saying Graham will win the game if the two meet, but I am saying and telling you now, Graham has MORE speed than Appo. As for Richlands last year, they more than gave Appo a "test." They had the game nearly out of reach, but had no running game to be able to kill the clock. Richlands led in the fourth quarter against Appo. As a matter of fact, I will make a prediction and go a slight different direction from my prediction about Graham and Appo meeting. In my opinion, Graham will win the state championship. This is only my opinion. I hope the Spartans win the whole thing so I can add another state title pennant to my 45 year old bandanna.

Why no love for Dan River? They have lots of speed as well, and Appo only beat them by 2 pts (14-16 I think).

DR is snake bitten when it comes to advancing deep into playoffs. DR is too conservative on offense, though their pass game has improved from years past. DR has as good of defense as anyone I have seen. If DR can open up offense they can be playing in Salem in December.

All you need to know about Appo's speed is that they handily beat a great Amherst team and Amherst beat Salem. I know those 2nd generation comparisons don't necessarily translate to who is better than who but that has my attention.

How big is the loss of the RB? I heard he was the starter but then I heard he was only averaging 40-50 ypg?

I don't know much about Appomattox. You guys may run 2 or 3 RB sets for all I know and that might be why his stats were low.

Tre Walker will hurt us. He has been back there 2 years with phillip in probably one of the best 1-2 punches in the state. Fortunately, we are loaded at RB. The problem will be the chemistry of team. Trey and philllip both have a heart that cant be matched. I know who the replacement will be, but i dont want to release that info on here.

Graham is the fastest team I have seen in a while. Big question for them will be if they can handle the preasute

50 yards a game because he shares snaps with Phillip Fleshman. the both average 100+ a game until reserves come in. The issue is neither play D and now the person they have to replace him is full time D. We are deep at RB. We have 4 RBs that could be a #1 back.

yeah, he hates it. I know this kid very well and he has the heart that he probably texting coach smith right now saying "Come on coach, I CAN GO!" (with cast on leg). Sucks cause he is a senior. He played a big part in our state championship and the 10-0 season this year. he is a good kid with great attitude. he was a state champ in track too.
He was the kid that ran the sweep play that beat Richlands in OT.

Yuuup! Took them 47 minutes to wake up and play with urgency against Appo. DR is still the real deal. Beat Magna Vista and only lost to Appo by 2.
