Has this been reported here?

Ole Miss's top baseball prospect David Renfroe has apparently come to terms with and signed with the Red Sox over the weekend. Rumoured at $1.5 million.

Huge.

Bumphis not as bad as originally thought. Sidney gets academically eligible. Connor Powers is returning. Renfroe signs with the BoSox. Nice.

Tyler Russell decides to forego his college career to play football in Japan. Greg Byrne announces he is stepping down as AD to become an astronaut and bitchslap the hole in the ozone layer. LT agrees to come back and immediately puts the Mootube on Ebay.

I can't find anything about it on the ledger, nafoom, or spirit's free board so I googled it and found an article or two, but I just figured this would be a topic of conversation somewhere since he was one of the State's top players this past year and a Top 5 round pick and just recently signed. I know it's almost football season but damn, that's a big loss for OM.

It just seemed kind of odd to me that Billy Hamilton, who we all knew was going pro, signed in what seemed like the first week after the draft and Renfroe didn't sign until a couple of days ago and nobody's talking about it.

when our previous athletic team had an inferior year?
I am not sure exactly what the rules are, TR. But I don't think we should relish in bad news for UMiss unless every one of our teams won the national championship the year before. That is my understanding of the rules, but I could be wrong.

I know a lot of Rebels were holding out hope until he did sign. But yeah, everyone but the wooliest of Rebel sheep knew it was a long shot. Bianco did a good job. He took a chance on a very good player (even though it was probably a foregone conclusion where he would play his college ball if the Sox hadn't come up with the right offer). Much better than Polk II's strategy of only signing players who never had a snowball's chance in hell of ever being drafted. Occasionally you do get lucky with those guys.
