Going for 2 was right call, our defense couldn’t do anything… just wish we had a better play call
Reminds me of the game in Houston where Brewbaker (I think) was handed the ball on offense at the one-yard line and was short by an inch or two. I got to go to the Houston and Navy away games that year.

Turnovers made it close, times of possession is why it wasn't a Tulsa win by 10+ in regular time.

Those 2 games were brutal !
The Navy game was the killer... it was a great trip for the wife and I. We visited the Naval Academy and ate crab cakes at a local place they don't tell the tourists about.

Wife had Hiton status and we got a hotel room after making a last-minute decision. Turns out it was the Navy team hotel, and we took the Navy shuttle over with nothing by Navy fans. They were a ton of fun and very nice to us.

More anti-vision by singleton on the last play. Blocker occupied two guys. Instead of cutting off of it, he plows head first into both of them.

Just watched the replay of the game and I only got UNT first possession of OT. Offense has got to be able to sustain drives to give our defense rest. We out score them 14-3 then they turn around an outscore us 28-3. I was like wrf. Their running back is pretty good. You could definitely tell that Baylor still has some mobility issues with that brace. I think he did well though for being out 2 games. This was definitely a game we could have won. The road to 10-2 starts today.

I will say, I might get heat for this but we really shouldn't have made it to overtime. That TD catch we had, that should have been overturned. Now we still could have scored since it was only second down but still.... That was a really bad call that went in our favor big time

If that call would have went against us on the road we would be talking about it for weeks.

I don’t disagree but 2nd and goal from the 5 I think we score anyway. The 4th down conversions are what got us to OT

I absolutely disagree with your assessment. If the officials didn’t go to the monitor and review it then yeah I would be with you but it was reviewed and it was upheld. Touchdown Tulsa. There is no should have been overturned about it.

The only way that was a TD would be if our receiver re-established his foot back in bounds prior to touching the ball. That didn’t occur. Should have been incomplete. Replay simply got it wrong

Here is the part that you’re missing. The before touching the ball are means he can’t be the first person to touch the ball. The ball was deflected off the corner back. When he caught it he was in bounds. That is a touchdown my friend. There was no wrong call about it. Replay confirmed it.

So unhappy with the 2 point try. My rule is never do it unless you have to.

we didn’t have to do it until the second OT

Exhibit A

Ark 16-6
7 would have but the Ark O under pressure
The unnecessary offside kick sealed the loss

Exhibit B

TU was on the short left hash
Going right has multiple options
Qb cut pass run

I screamed no at the try

lamb owns this L

our only goal is a meaningless bowl game if we get to six

The only positive is that we screw up Oklahoma State’s ratings and probably kick them out of the playoffs

my OSU friends are furious that TU didn’t win this game
My response is we beat the orange mean but not the green mean

Niw that amazing win is in the inexplicable fluke bizarre category
The truth is TU was in shape. OSU looked like they had not practice outside.

Once a player goes out of bounds he has to re-establish himself inbounds before he can make a legal catch. He touched the ball before the foot which was out of bounds could be re-established in bounds. Thus…no catch. The replay official misapplied the rule.

ESPN’s rules expert Terry McAulay.
“This is simply an incomplete pass. When a player leaps he retains the same status as when he was last on the ground. He reestablishes inbounds by getting any body part down inbounds with no body part OOB.

Here, the right foot was OOB when he jumps. He then touches the pass in the air without reestablishing inbounds, making it incomplete.

Note that even if his left foot left the ground slightly after the right, the jump is all one action and he would still be considered OOB.”

He also cut and pasted the actual rule from the NCAA rule book on his X account

The issue is he went out after the ball was tipped, not before. If he went out before then the defenders touch clears him. However, the ball was touched and then he went out. He cannot be first to touch at this point. It was a missed call.

True. However, even if the ball wasn’t tipped the player still has to re-establish himself inbounds to make a legal catch. You can’t be OOB then jump in the air and catch a ball even if you land inbounds unless you first land inbounds prior to the catch

They said the defender forced him out. It is questionable but there was a push off by the DB just before the point they kept replaying.

Even if that were true (I didn’t see it that way), the offensive player still has to re-establish himself inbounds prior to touching the ball to make a legal catch. He can be the first to touch it if forced out but that has no bearing on the requirement to re-establish himself inbounds prior to the catch. I’m not sure how replay didn’t know the rule but they clearly didn’t
