What is the backstory on Reiger ....anyone know? Testing the waters or a problem with the HC/staff?

He was out injured all year wasn’t he?

If so, he doesn’t have much NIL leverage you would think.

But what do I know.

Chaney would’ve been 5th on depth chart behind: I Brown, Watson, Turner and K Brown

I would expect to lose nearly every player. And I'm not saying that as a negative. It's just the situation. We'll gain a ton of guys worthy of getting excited about.

This is why continuity at the top matters. So far Brohm is proving his blueprint works with whoever is on the team.

Reiger is interesting because he is coming off an injury. There is always a market for edge guys but I can’t imagine he goes up the food chain. He was good but not a game changer at this level. Now at a lower level he could be a game changer when healthy.

He needs to see his value. Hopefully, Louisville will match whatever the market bears. He is a good edge when healthy and a position on need. I would guess Green will do the same.

So far all the rest will transfer laterally or down. I can see Sanker at GT.

Agreed; coming off a season ending injury will minimize Reiger’s NIL value. I expect he may be one who returns.

Perry may of been the biggest disappointment. He was lost at times and never really made an impact with this staff. Change of scenery or scheme will probably help him and needs to drop down a level. Never bulked up.

Reigers problem is he has dealt with injuries throughout his career. Dont think he ever played a full season!

I hate seeing Reiner going because I was impressed with him last year. I also don’t see how he will get many offers coming off a year of not playing because of injury. If he goes somewhere it would have to be a step down with no guarantees.

Some of these are coached decisions too. The WR leaving is always interesting. Calloway-Thompson never could get healthy. It is amazing in this offense they are always thin. Not sure what they will even put on the field for bowl game.

Reiger was a surprise to me and I wonder if it isn't just as simple as he has his degree, the rehab and injury situation over the last two years has him thinking he should transfer closer to home. He'll always be the Dude who ran over Joe Alt for a sack against Notre Dame and you can't take that memory away for any of us. Calloway is similar in that he looked like he was going to contribute and got that ugly knee wrenched against Jacksonville State.

Perry I expected because he went through the Senior Day ceremonies; he gave us alot and he'll be missed. He was often put in really tough spots one-on-one with a slot receiver like Xavier Restrepo or a RB on a deep wheel route.

2025 RB Room:

1 - SOPH Isaac Brown
2 - SOPH Duke Watson

3 -
Incoming freshman Jamarice Wilder
(If Brohm like's his QB's to be 6'5", his RB's can be 6'0" or shorter from Florida. FWIW, Wilder's highlights look good. He's cut from the same mold as Brown and Watson. Whether that translates as quickly as it did for Brown and Watson, time will tell.)

4 - Will need to grab one via the portal. This won't be all that easy, given the success from both Brown and Watson this past year.

5 - Maybe add a walk-on too.

...one option might be an unattractive one and that is someone who missed the season due to injury--either in the Portal or from the HS ranks though the Portal being the safer option. That is basically what happened to Turner.

We have been blessed with deep RB room's the past two years. A track record you have to hope Brohm & Co can use in finding two more RB's.

Brohm definitely needs to get an experienced back in the portal. We all know about injuries. I wouldn't want the #3 back be a true freshman. We need a couple of dudes, transfers with multiple seasons remaining.

Looking at the roster DL has to be a priority in the portal especially DT.
A majority of the production and depth are Seniors

The entire defense is thin. I think they have 27 spots to fill 15 spots maybe more will probably be tied to Dline and Secondary.

A lot of young guys on Dline. Big dudes hopefully see them in action in the bowl. Green really needs to add weight. Another 20 lbs he can leverage is rush better.
