Cable installer? Zillow searches? Reading of pig entrails? Does anyone know anything new?
I have to wonder if Diaco is playing us, Arkansas, and Wisconsin off of each other to drive his price up? It's just odd that it's been so quiet today.
Usually is before the announcement. The hardest partI have to wonder if Diaco is playing us, Arkansas, and Wisconsin off of each other to drive his price up? It's just odd that it's been so quiet today.

You do realize Wilcox was set to make $950K IN 2017 with a $100k retention bonus on top of that at the end of the year. Over $1M isnt ponying up?
No worries. He's going through the hiring process right now - background check, application, lawyer stuff, etc.. It all started happening around the same time of the week as Donte. Lots of stuff going on behind the scenes right now. This one is sped up some because of urgency of weekend.
Madison — New Wisconsin defensive coordinator Justin Wilcox is set to be paid $1.45 million over the next two seasons.
UW officials provided Wilcox's compensation package Thursday.
Wilcox's base salary is $300,000 each year. He will receive $200,000 in additional compensation in 2016 and $650,000 in additional compensation in 2017.
Wilcox, 39, also can receive a retention payment of $100,000 if he is still on the UW staff on Jan. 1, 2018.
Per Milwaukee paper $950K, $100K due on Jan 1, 2018

Alvarez didnt want him to be poached like Aranda to be a DC at another school. If they upped the ante for Wilcox they should be able to do the same for the new hire

Wilcox didnt have any leverage after being fired by USC so they back loaded it to prevent him from leaving after Yr 1. Just didnt anticipate him getting a P5 HC offer. $775K per year is still respectable, may not land a big name now with all the openings though.

Nebraska government (and thus the University) has a funky law that the position has to be publicly advertised for(I believe) 3 days before a hire can be made, so count back the number of days since the position became open and advertised and you will probably get your announcement date. (Somebody in the know on the exact number of days feel free to correct).
Diaco would have to see the potential to become HC at NU in a few years if he does a great job as DC.
Yes. He went 11-26 at UCONN.Didn't he just get fired from UCONN?
I really don't understand why you'd go from being the DC at Notre Dame to being the anything at UConn. There are plenty of HC gigs out there that are step down from a good assistant job...Yes. He went 11-26 at UCONN.
Some people are great coordinators, not great head coaches.
If I have the timing right, UCONN was in the Big East still, and that program was doing very well at the time, to the point of playing in the Fiesta Bowl in 2011.I really don't understand why you'd go from being the DC at Notre Dame to being the anything at UConn. Edsall had that program pretty much topped out. But Paul Pasqualoni cratered the program before Diaco took over. He couldnt move the needle. Gonna be hard to build a decent program in Storrs. Or maybe we just focus on improving our defense nowHere we go. Let's talk about a coach who was a complete disaster as a head coach at UConn becoming our head coach in a few years.
