To me, he would fit into Dan's offense much better than Nutt's. He's a 6'2" WR, but I could certainly see him in the slot at State playing the "Percy Harvin" position. He is MC's main weapon on offense. I'm sure Nutt's telling him that he can run the "Wild Rebel" or whatever though. He may want to play on the same team as his buddy Martin, to, and I can understand that.

I haven't heard that rumor specifically, about Hall leaving, but it wouldn't really surprise me. MC has a ton of seniors this year, and even with Singleton back next year, I don't think they will be quite as good next year. I would like for Hall to be gone just because he is such a Ole Miss homer. I have heard that he basically slams MSU and tries to steer his players to Ole Miss. He does win, so it's a catch 22. It would be perfect if Hall left, and then MC went out and got Ricky Woods, Larry Weems from Meridian, or Nevil Barr from Oak Grove.

But that said, I still think that Martin would go to Ole Miss even if Dan Mullen was the HC at MC, just because of his parents and family.

Oh, and I saw where Bernard Euell is a coach for MC.

that was probably the #1 stupidest thing that sumbitch ever did. Telling the fans he didn't care what we thought, burning the redshirt & punting from the 30 somehow don't compare to leaving recruiting visits on the table. It's like it was his money paying to bring these kids to campus or something. He had the attitude that no top recruit would ever want to come here anyways and that loser mentality is the biggest reason he could never get his teams over the hump. 17, I'm so glad we have a real coach now.

to players with bad grades because they have a good track record of getting them elgible no matter what it takes. You know that and don't take it personal.

If he goes to MSU or some other SEC school and plays really well, Nutt is going to catch hell.

People that have seen him play say he is the real deal.
Ole Miss only backed off of him because they weren't going to get him and they are trying to save face. They always claim the "backed off" of any recruit they don't get. It is kind of like saying Coach34 "backed off" from trying to hook up with Erin Andrews because she slapped him in the face when he grabber her ***. They didn't back off... they just quit wasting their time.

Yeah except the part about him claiming Ole Miss was his definite leader before his official visit, and the part about him wanting to commit during the visit.

Other than that, you're spot on.

I'm just bored.

And the fact that it aggravates you and others here that I'm trying to have actual discussion instead of flaming and getting banned makes me laugh.

in Gluckstadt. Flora will remain with MC but the new high school is going to take a large number of players off the MC roster which is going to make it alot tougher. Hall is the kind of guy in my opinion that might like to go out while he is on top.

Privately may be a different matter though. If he wants to go out on top, this would be the year to do it. MC loses well over half their starters this year, then the year after that the new HS will start taking players. Still, the new HS is no excuse not to be competitive in 6A. MC will still be one of the 10 largest schools even after the new HS is built.

We were known for that when we were winning consistently back in the 1990s. We need to be known for that again.

wonder you don't follow recruiting...

Again, I follow recruiting. I just don't get bogged down in the rankings. I can look at our depth chart and see what areas we need to address, and I follow recruiting to see what kind of players we sign at those spots.

This year, high school DTs and DEs are going to be important. A Juco DE will be important. We still need a few LBs and DBs from the high school ranks, and we may want to take a Juco DB. We still need a good number of high school OL, and we probably need one or two Juco OLs. That's a huge spot for us this year. We don't need any true QBs, and running backs should be way down our list. We could use another WR or two as well, of the high school variety.

And yes I take what Yancy says with a grain of salt. Primarily I read his stuff to see what players at what positions are on our radar. His guesses about what guys will do or won't do are questionable to me.

Ole Miss was his leader at one time. And before that MSU was his leader. And before that Penn State was his leader. And before that MSU was his leader. Then he made visits, many of his teamates, including his roomate, committed to MSU and he decided MSU is now his leader. He may change his mind again. I know this may be the first time you have ever followed recruiting, but sometimes these guys change their minds. Just ask Bruiser. He can explain all of this to you.

But if he doesn't go to Ole Miss, it won't be because the backed off no matter how many times Yancy says it. It is funny to me how the same people who call MSU fans sheep listen to and believe every word that crackhead Yancy Porter tells them.
