We were able to raise over $1600 for the charity that we chose. We chose the Palmer Home in Columbus. In all, we will be able to send 16 children and adults from the Palmer Home and pay for their gas and concessions to enjoy the Liberty Bowl.

To give a breakdown, 7 Liberty Bowl tickets were donated by users and we will purchase the remaining 9 from the Liberty Bowl. We will also be providing a cowbell and MSU toboggan to those attending and whatever else we can purchase with the remaining $$.

Let me know if y'all have any questions. And huge thanks to the Missouridawg for the doing the legwork on this. It's really appreciated.

One awesome note on this...

One of the kids going to the game is a senior in high school that just got accepted (and will be attending) MSU next fall. #HailState

I know it has already been said plenty of times but it's worth saying once more how awesome this is. Great job to all those who helped make this happen.

Final tally

We had $1700 and 11 tickets donated

We bought 5 tickets on stubhub and are sending 16 people to the game. DS is working with Campus Bookmart on some care packages (cowbells, toboggans, etc...). The balance of the money raised will go towards gas, parking, and concessions. Final amounts spent on the care packages to be posted as soon as DS gets that information.

Here's a list of the donors. Thanks again for everyone who supported this. And most of all, thanks TheRavishinOne for being an ******* and spurring this idea.

Would anyone that lives in Starkville/Columbus/West Point be willing to drop off these items tomorrow in Columbus at the Palmer Home? They will be at Campus Book Mart in Starkville. If not, they are going to be shipped and we are just trying to keep costs down.

Thanks and pm me with your name and phone number if you would like to help.

Update - 11 tickets were donated so we only had to purchase 5. We are going to try and buy a package of MSU gear for $35-$45 and the rest will be donated to the Palmer Home.

Here's a breakdown of everything:

$1700 total cash raised
11 tickets donated

5 tickets purchased for $396.45 ($345 for tickets, $16.95 for delivery, and $34.50 for stubhub fee)

Remaining balance: $1303.55

Gas/Concessions: $300.00

That leaves $1,003.55 to go between Campus Book Mart and a donation.

300 seems kind of low for gas and concessions for 16 people the way stuff gets priced at stadiums. I'm not trying to boss you around; I'm just pointing out that you can get ripped off for hot dogs and bad smelling cups at a home game and it might be even worse in Memphis.

This was a great idea, and I hope to contribute more generously next year.

Just got off the phone with campus bookmart. We got a cowbell, cowbell sticker, and a toboggan for 16 people. The total was $684.29 and that leaves us donating about $320 to the Palmer Home.

So in all, we are giving 16 tickets, 16 care packages, gas and concessions, and a donation. Great job everyone.

After some shipping fees and the purchase of

cowbells, cowbell stickers, and toboggans, the Palmer Home was donated $575 to cover expenses (food, gas, parking, etc...). I anticipate receiving a picture of the group after the game and will post that for all to see!

A few more notes...

a big thanks goes out to Big Sheep 81 who procured 11 total tickets for donation. His help in gathering up those tickets and getting them delivered to the Palmer Home allowed us more freedom to deck the game-goers out with MSU gear!

Thanks Big Sheep 81!

HD6 deserves a round of applause for his delivery skills. He purchased, picked up, and delivered the cowbells, cowbell stickers, and toboggans to the Palmer Home in Columbus. Thanks General!

And DS deserves thanks for helping me coordinate this and allowing us to the pimp the board out for this opportunity.

Next year, we'll do this much earlier in December. The one thing I think we missed out on this year was getting the tickets all together. By organizing this earlier, I'll purchase the tickets through my BDC account in order to benefit the University by selling more tickets (as well as helping out my BDC priority!).

Prior to next season, if we want to sponsor the Palmer Home in Columbus for a home game at MSU, we can easily do that as well. We can discuss our options much further once next season gets a little closer to us.

Great work guys. You all should be proud.

I was not able to get in on this one but I definitely will be in on the next one. Having to watch every penny since I have family coming in for my daughter's wedding on Monday.

HD6 unfortunately had a wreck today. He was uninjured but could not do the delivery. Really want to thank dawgpound11 for doing the delivery on such short notice.

I didn't do anything special. Y'all did that part. It means a lot to those kids. Well done gentlemen.
