I believe a wise man will not take the outcome of any game for granted. Sometimes you come across a team that you just don't match up against very well. With a few exceptions, any team can lose to another in the playoffs on a given night. Truly a fun time of year.
From info been hearing..sm has very good shot going small..a potential s point at pisgah in round 2 would be interesting
Well im sure the pisgah folks will hate this..i think this years pisgah team is actually well equipped to match up with s point if they can produce any offense.there front 7 is legit on defense..if pisgah prevails and faces shelby..i think speed will be the deciding factor..shelby will pressure so much on defense and playing defense against that offense is pure hell if you dont have equal speed..shelby will take 20 deep shots...but i will go on record..winning in Canton wont be easy and if pisgah beats s point shelby and hibriten...then hats off...i still think hibriten is the favorite but thats why they play the games

And I might add, you do not want to meet up with Shelby - anywhere.
I love the Raiders / Pisgah possibility. The NCHSAA will provide plenty of motivation for SP to prove this system is moronic.

Shelby will take Pisgah to the woodshed. If they get a 1 seed, man something is wrong, hibriten is getting screwed. But time will tell I guess
You all should have tried to schedule that instead of them scheduling Mt Pleasant. Maybe next season or the season after. Petition the AD to call them..

I think we were talking about conferences not team.So you need to pay attention.
Simmons has the Bears ranked 13th in 2A.We know all about Shelby ,have nothing but respect for their record over the years .We have played them several times and only won once .Most likely would be a third or fourth round game .So we will think about them when we get there.

Ashe is not ranked 5th....in the new rankings, they are 19, and would be seeded around 5 in 2AA West if it ended right now based on last year's numbers....but no matter what happens, Ashe will be seeded relatively high because they are a conference champion
Mediocre vs. Mediocre can seem tough. You played one team the caliber of NC's best 2AA teams and were drug.
Regarding Pisgah, remember that the Adjusted Maxpreps Rankings are still based partially off of the actual Maxpreps rankings, which reward strength of schedule....even though Pisgah had a bad night against the highly regarded 4A school from Tennessee (who is still undefeated I believe), just playing them gave Pisgah a huge boost in rankings....had that team had a disappointing year, Pisgah's ranking would definitely not be as high; still potentially higher than Hibriten's just on conference strength of schedule, which I don't like, because nobody chooses who they play in conference....Hibriten is looking like it will be 2 seed in 2AA West, looking at hosting at least 3 playoff games, 4 if they win the first 3 and potential 1 seed Pisgah loses before them....if the seeds hold and Hibriten has to travel to Pisgah, take solace in getting a lot of the gate $ back in the playoffs for road games, unlike in the regular season
Take that 41-1 over the last few years out of the equation. It's all about the current season. An 0-11 team from last year can get the 1 seed if they go 11-0 this year. All that being said, you do have a legitimate beef based on this season alone.
East Lincoln really helped themselves by beating Newton-Conover....they are by no means a lock, but they're in a safer spot than teams ranked in the 50s or 60s who have a game this week they need to win.....like Roanoke Rapids (who I have out right now, but they are probably in with a win), plus First Flight, Washington, Carrboro, Oak Grove
So you played two of the best and were "drug", one being a shellacking from Shelby. So where does that leave SP?
I wouldn't exactly call them getting beat by Shelby a shellacking. They had a chance to win up until midway through the fourth.
Far from a shellacking. Down 27-25 with 6 minutes to go. Shelby returned a KO for a TD.
So just for fun cal preps said that
South point was 7 points better than Pisgah
Shelby was 8 points better than Pisgah
Hibriten was 20 points better than Pisgah

NCHSAA/Maxpreps has it a bit different
Pisgah is 17 points better than SP
Pisgah is 16 points better than Shelby
Pisgah is 10 points better than Hibriten
It’s just a bean counter, attorney and a high school football site trying to get 8 ounces of water in a 6 ounce glass.
Well we know some of those games will be played. And I will be in attendance to witness the action LIVE (or live action ) and we can see how close these are
) and we can see how close these areI've seen all play this year except Hibriten. I would say both SP and Shelby are 21 points better than Pisgah easily. They have no offense.
I hope Pisgah does really well in their bracket, but they will not come close to hanging with those 3 teams.
