Yeah the 2/3 format for deciding a champion is brutal. Just look at World Series history--there would be a lot of different names on that list if the series went 3 games, not 7.

Van Horn screwed that up badly. Asked the guy to throw 9 innings and essentially be perfect in doing so with as bad as his offense was yesterday. Trotting him back out for the 9th when he was already at 114 pitches is ridiculous, DVH got what he deserved with that homer.

THIS... Kopps could literally not be anything but superhuman. You told your entire team that if he doesn't win it for you, you don't win. And you put yourself in a situation where you cannot pull him...

Watch the crowds reaction on that last homerun. It is complete and total defeat seeing a SECOND home run off the guy they thought was untouchable.
