The SEC is full of mediocrity this year. There's gonna be some crazy games like this more than a few times. UK, LSU, TN, MSU, and Florida are the best of the mediocre, and I could honestly see any of those 5 winning the overall title. The order I put them in is the order I would rank the chances of each. I could see the race going down to the last weekend. Get ready for a fun ride.

I think Kentucky and LSU are the two best...then Tenn...and then State and Fla...the other 7 are just fighting for the NIT

We almost have to win Saturday or we will be hosting a 1st round NIT game

UK has the top two players in the league and a decent coach (I'm not as high on Gillespie as others seem to be but do give him credit). TN is probably more talented than LSU, but LSU is more experienced and has a really good coach (I'm a big fan of Trent Johnson). Coaching is probably a push between those two, but LSU's experience gives them the nod for second on my list. I'm not impressed with Florida at all this year, but given the talent level and the coach, you can't count them out, hence why I put them last among the group. And lastly I think I've made it known how I feel about our team - talent across the board is comparable to all the other teams and coach is probably slightly less than most of the other group (I'm a big Stans supporter and may get roasted for this but Stans and Gillespie are pretty close in my mind until Gillespie shows he can protect home court better at least).

At basically the quarter pole, it's a five team breakaway and we may be the fifth best team although I think we are close with Florida. I am not ready to anoint UK as the king just yet though. Beating Auburn, Georgia and a young Vandy team don't do much for me, but the road win at UT was nice. LSU's win over USC looks better after tonight. Not coincidentally, the top five teams are the only teams in the league with road wins thus far. Kentucky and UT each have two of them. We need to notch our second one Saturday to keep pace, especially since Florida still gets to go to UGA too.
