I notice we have 3 possible prospects playing in this game in Brunetti, Thompson, and Robinson. I know we got all three coming to campus for a visit. Do we have a decent shot at any of them or are we going to pull a classic Mississippi State and lose all 3. Here is my feelings.

1. Brunetti : This one sorta of confuses me, he is a W. Virginia commit yet many people seem to think we have a chance to swing him to Starkville. I would be pleasantly surprised if we could land him.

2. Thompson: At one time I was fairly sure that we would get him but Ole Miss has come on strong late. He has narrowed his list to either us or them, I am a little concerned about the fact that the Rebels have the last visit with him, that generally is not in our favor but who knows with this kid. I think as of right now its 50/50.

3. Robinson: I am pretty sure we have a decent shot with this guy and if I was Coach Mullen I would put all my eggs in this kids basket. He is almost a must. The one thing I am positive of is that the coaching staff is doing everything they possibly can to land this Man Child.

If there is anybody else I'm missing then someone let me know. Maybe we catch a break and land a couple of these guys.

Basically the word on Brunetti is that Pat White is his idol and thus the "WV" connection. Basically all they had to say is "your the next Pat White" and he was ready to go.

Now we have to convice him they were lying and he could be what Pat White was to WV here at MSU. WV has a QB that's higher ranked than him committed already and signed a big-time HS kid last year so there's lots of competition there.

I find it hard to believe that a guy from memphis, Tn goes to W.V.U. so he can play pretend. We should be able to pull this guy. Why would he visit? He obviously wants to hear what we have to say. Come on Dan! Close the deal, this kid is a player.

or come to MSU and break all of our passing records by your sophomore year.

or do for MSU what Mike Vick did for Virginia Tech.

Plus, look what the 2nd place team in the SEC did to the Big East champion. Come play with the big boys.

Also, all 12 of our games were televised. I'm sure WVU played most on tv, but not all 12.

Look what Mullen has done with QB's like you. Our depth chart is wide open. Should be an easy sell.

I remember a few months back, Steve said it was just a matter of time before Brunetti committed to MSU. Next thing you know, he visits and commits to WVU and hasn't wavered at all.

I have a feeling that Brunetti is going to go to MSU. I don't really know why.

I don't think we get Thompson, also a feeling.

I think Robinson falls in our laps. But I'm not complaining about that- I'll take anyone that's 6'8" 300 falling into our laps any day.

He wouldn't be extremely interested on what we have to say without Newton going to Auburn. That was the biggest key in all of this. From the word up here in the Memphis area, his mother likes Dan Mullen and wants to be able to watch all of his home games like most mothers do. That's kind of hard up there at John Denver U. He was made for the type of offense we run. He is like a Chris Leake/Alex Smith type or Massoli from Oregon except taller. Should be a great fit if he decides to come. Instead of being accused of having a pretty mouth in WV and he can be accused of having a pretty throwing motion at MSU.</p>
