Not sure how much everyone has kept up with the Open thus far, but I've got to say first and foremost considering the circumstances Merion has been in regards to weather the last 10 days, it has been a great event so far. The USGA and volunteers have done an excellent job to maintain the course and make this a great challenge for the players. I'm a big time supporter of make the courses incredibly hard and watch the world's best grind it out. Personally, I believe there should be more of that.

Now on to the leader board. While I'm not thrilled about it, I've got to send props to Phil for getting off the red eye flight at 4am on Thursday and pacing the field thru 36 holes. However, I've got to believe an epic meltdown must be coming. Because that's so Phil. Tiger hasn't done anything special, but is only 4 back. Word from the course is this will be the most 'vulnerable' the course will be all weekend. So if players are going to make a push, today is the day. Definitely will be channel flipping between this and the baseball game today.

Agreed, I like it when a course makes the best players in the world look like me playing the MS National. I'm sucking on my sheet, though. Stenson, Harrington, and Coetzee are my best chances to take the pot in my pool.

Although I would hardly consider flying on a private jet a "red eye"...
