Hope they can hang on. Making the NCAAT is a must for Paris' job and we need to string together wins.

Inability to shoot the basketball killing us again.
Kept it close, just can't consistently shoot the BB.

If Mongolian Mike is our best offensive option, why do we choose not to run plays to him near the ends of games?

Guards shot the team out of the game. Meechie and Ellis aren't consistent or good enough shooters.

Well, they are playing better than I thought they would in conference play. Moral victories won't save Lamont's job, though.

NCAA has to do something about the end of these games. For a game to take up 30 minutes in the last 30 seconds of a game with ridiculous timeouts, stoppages, etc.... it's just awful.

All they do is prolong the inevitable. We lost this game 20 minutes ago but they're still playing. Ridiculous.

I would disagree. I believe the team has the desire to win but not the ability.
Didn't watch, so I can't say. I would assume they want to win.

Saban had a quote on this though. He said every player who steps on the field wants to win. That goes without saying. Nobody WANTS to lose. But is that player who wants to win willing to do the things necessary to win? When I was teaching college some years back, I ran into this with students. They all wanted an A, (even the ones who obviously didn't care still wanted a good grade) but most weren't willing to do what was necessary to get an A (to earn it).

I don't know about all that as it relates to this team. Occam's razor would say Paris probably just isn't that good of a coach, based on the evident up to this point.

Kept it close against a ranked team, about the best spin I can put on it. Will we be better than last year? Can’t say at this point but they are competitive and don’t quit. We didn’t kill it in the portal so this is about what I expected. Half way point in conference play will let us know what to expect.

We'll only be as good as our players can make us on their own, if you know what I mean, particularly on offense.

Today was a result of missed foul shots and a cold Meechie. He played good but the 3 was missing today. He hits 1 and we eliminate a missed FT or 2 and we win.

Every SEC team has a big guy or two that can leap out of the gym. When Lamont plays small, which he does too much, we can’t get a rebound or stop anyone inside. We have to hope they miss. He’s got to play either Butler or the Big guy most of the time as the rebound snd alter shots. They keep balls alive for us often.

Didn’t see the game, saw Paris presser. He said basically a moral victory. He acts like he doesn’t care that they lost!!’
