Off to bed here, but I’m still chuckling over this. I suppose with our hot recruiting streak lately, I was actually expecting an announcement that would keep momentum going. After all, we were told it would change the landscape of college football. What we got was “It’s big! We don’t know what ‘it’ is or if it’s feasible, but we’re checking into it.” Lol, genius.
I've done a lot of venting today, but I want to sign off for tonight with this. I'm not saying that big, maybe dramatic things won't happen. Hopefully they will materialize.
But you can't put on the show they did today - or release the vapid video I saw elsewhere - with nothing more definite to display than was released today. It bordered on insulting to the fanbase in one sense, and in another sense, embarrassing.

After reflecting overnight I'm pizzed we didn't even get fries with our nothing burger.
I'm not sure why they'd make an announcement like this. Is it meant to entice early enthusiasm for whatever comes next?

Yes. Why bother even announcing it at this stage? At best, something like this is probably a decade from becoming reality. They don't even have plans yet. Just an idea, and not much of an idea at that. Basically it's "We want to do something with that land, but we don't know what."

Looking at the plots of land on the map, I don't see how anything built there is going to benefit anyone or enhance the gameday experience to a large degree. This was a very overhyped announcement. I did see that student section enhancements could be part of any renovations to WB whenever the F those actually happen. Once thing that I think should happen immediately is that the students section(s) in the east upper need to be done away with. It's been pretty clear that there isn't enough demand for multiple sections in the upper deck be devoted to students. Have them in the lower level where they can have a bigger impact on the atmosphere.
