Head coaches will do what ever they have to, to keep their job. NO exceptions! When push comes to shove, the assistants are gone. Someone has to take the blame for the Head Coach.

OLD STOLL FIELD GUY!

but Stoops doesn't have to do that... 15 million dollars sats so... His job is secure no matter what he decides to do

I wouldn't exactly say he's new. He's been on that staff for six years (since Lane Kiffin's first year). Looks like this will be a move back towards more of the Kiffin staff over the Sark staff (all of the purged were new guys Sark brought in).

Does sound like Tee Martin is in line to be OC.

Was going to start a thread this morning but put it off...so I'll add it to this one (kind of in the same vein). A lot of yelling and screaming from fans since the UL game...but it seems, to me at least, that it's been awful quiet around the program. Specifically regarding Stoops and any changes he may make...if any. Normally it seems changes are made fairly soon after the end of the season. Lot of movement from program to program, but I haven't heard anything regarding our staff.

Don't know about Tee as OC, think he lacks experience. As stated above may bring his brother from WKU to be the OC.

The problem with firing assistants when the HC is on the hot seat is that it is difficult to hire quality people. You are only going to be able to hire coaches who have no other or much lesser options. Otherwise, they aren't going to take a position that has a high likelihood of being a one year gig.

The longer the off-season goes on, the more I think no changes are coming to the staff. At least major ones. Look how quick head coaches are being hired and the staff carousel is going to start getting empty. We get it into the new year, I think the entire staff comes back.

This is what is laughable. All we heard 2 weeks ago was about staff changes, now while everyone scoops up the good coaches, big names, etc. we're still sitting here with a bunch of duds on the staff. Stoops can win at UK, just not with this bunch of jokers.

Really don't understand your comment as it pertains to USC. This coach was interim then hired last week as the new coach. He's just going to bring in his own staff.

But to your comment on in general, very true.

The title to this thread is: USC's Helton Fires 4 Asst. Coaches. Will Stoops Fire One?.
My comment was directed to the question raised in that title.

If we have no changes at all you can bet we lose 1,000's of season ticket sales. He has to show he will make some changes if he wants to try and keep some fans on board.

I would of given Stoops another 2 yrs or 3 if he was able to grab some good coordinators. Like the kind that takes 1.5-2 million per year. And let them hire who they want as their position coaches. This is Kirby Smart level coach as he was making around 1.7 at Bama I think it was. Excellent recruiter and coach.
It's gonna take this level of commitment to succeed here. I'm 100% behind Stoops, Marrow and Ansley but that is about it. The others can all go.
