This would be a huge pickup

Either he’s PG1 or the starting 2 beside Lowe. Either of those scenarios makes the Lowe pickup significantly better as well when you know Lowe wasn’t brought in to be the lead perimeter player alongside Oweh. Lowe had your 3rd option and primary facilitator beside Oweh/Yates on the wings is a phenomenal backcourt with Jasper and Lewis backing it up

Not my cup of tea based on his stats.

Seriously?

14PPG and a 44% 3FG shooter as a Freshman in the Big10, and that doesn't do it for you?

If I told you we could sign a McDonalds All-American right now who could put up those numbers as a freshman next year, you wouldn't take that?

Add in the fact he has experience in the Big10?

How would he fit?

Oweh/Jasper at the 2
Chandler at 1/2/3
Williams/Noah at 3

Seems like a logjam. I guess Noah could play the 4 if we went small. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all in if he comes. Just seems like a lot of bodies.

This is a case where you have to do what's best for the program.

This kid is better than Noah, Chandler and Williams.

Been A LOT of smoke today that he is ours- originally from outside of Houston and supposedly has a connection with Alvin Brooks.

HE'S NOT GOOD ENOUGH. POPE CAN'T WIN BIG.

Oh... Oh man. That was completely involuntary. It felt like a message from fans in the future. Am I clairvoyant?

I apologize, Y'all. 😂

Sounds like a Brea replacement with a lot of college miles ahead. I love it.

If this is indeed UK, and with all things considered, I won’t hold my breath, this has to mean someone isn’t staying… Right?

I wonder who that could be?🫨

Not sure why?

We lost 4 perimeter guys from last year's team (Butler, Kriisa, Brea and Robinson), and only have 3 replacements so far, 2 of which are freshman (Lewis, Jasper & Lowe).

It makes sense the staff would want to go just as deep if not even deeper given the injury issues this year, PLUS feeling the need for more experience to replace 4 dudes who were all seniors.

Agree. This makes me feel like they aren't 100% confident that Oweh returns.

We are best if Perry and Noah aren’t getting significant minutes until their Jr/Sr season….thats their talent/development trajectory.

Chandler came in strong late out of necessity but I’m not fully sold that he’s top 7 rotation type talent as a sophomore either. I think he’s best utilized as he was last season….take advantage of his 1-3 versatility to spread his minutes out as depth.

Noah is a 3/4. Isn’t laterally quick enough to defend a 2 consistently. Perry is a career backup/depth piece at this level if Kentucky basketball is recruiting at the level it should be. He can eventually be a 5-15min a game guy that comes in and gets a few shots up or a break in case of emergency foul trouble/injury depth piece. He needs to add about 15-20lbs to not get bullied so he can use his body to bump and impede quicker point guards if he isn’t going to be able to be quick enough to stay in front/beat a guy to a spot

Low assists, not great defensive stats, not a high free throw rate. I’m not as enamored with guys who can shoot and that’s all compared to pretty much everyone here. Been that way since the get go.

Go watch his clips, he can create his own shot better than almost anyone we had last year, and he is actually rated pretty decent in defensive efficiency.

This kid is better than 3 of the 5 names that his post lists.

You can't pass on a top portal talent to make guys like Perry, Chandler and Noah happy. That is how coaches lose their jobs.

What is the group of players that gives Kentucky the absolute best chance to win the league and compete for number 9 next season- THAT is the assignment.

If we sign this kid and Perry feels he needs to enter the portal, so be it.

Now Yates would be a great get. Going to be a fight. Apparently 2 mil is the current price. Washington has money and wants him back.
