Id sure welcome him, he but won't be upset if it's Washington or someone else. I really like what we have for back court next year.

I haven’t seen credible evidence that Kentucky is on his list or that Kentucky has even attempted contact. He also has a “do not contact” tag

IF UK has the money you have to outbid on someone.
This would be the guy to do it on. Current price is 2 million, USC couldn't even come close to matching Kentucky's offer.

For some reason I don't understand Washington is flush with cash so I would imagine the price is going to go up.

Yeah. We are at the end of the roster building.

You either go all in on this guy or Pierre, unless you’re expecting a difference maker at the 5 to enter the portal and you go all in on him

I’m assuming you’ve already earmarked the money for the Robert Morris guy if that’s truly a done deal

It's my understanding that the DNC means one of two things - they already picked their school and are just following portal rules, or they have their handful of schools THEY would consider and will only work with those schools and will pick one after talking to only those schools.

Essentially you can't call the guy or his agent if they have the DNC tag - they want to do all the contacting.
I believe the above to be true as well, except I have read before schools could contact the agent…just not the player. I read a lot of nonsense though, so I might be full of nonsense!

I would rather give 3+ mil for Yates!

It's hard to get those west players to come east but at this point who knows . Like alot I want get to excited until I see proof to many wannabes reporting it's maddening
Yeah. Anyone who’s ever lived out there knows there is a weird west coast superiority complex from the locals where they greatly look down on states past the Colorado river…with a few exceptions of big northeastern cities.

Not saying that’s in the forefront of every recruits mind but subconsciously being surrounded by that mentality and little jokes your entire life can definitely shape perspective.

Everybody stressing over minutes have a short memory. We are in the SEC and injuries killed us. I’d say load up, minutes mean a lot less now that these players are making money.

He's from Texas, not a usual west coast player.

The fact that playing in the SEC would involve multiple games really close to home might be appealing.

Washington is only further away and he already went there once and decided to leave
That’s some good info to know and def changes the normal west coast perspective argument if he’s only been a west coast guy for college

Important to note that Yates and Lowe are pretty close.

Yates even reposted Lowe's commitment earlier in the day.

That can’t hurt. If they are close enough for him to post Lowe’s commitment to his story, then it’s safe to assume they have a legit friendship on some level and not just 2 guys that crossed paths in HS AAU. Thats a little different than a HS senior posting updates on everyone that’s in the EYBL

I’m starting to think this is the plan:

PG Lowe/Lewis/Perry
SG Yates/Johnson
SF Oweh/Chandler
PF Folgueiras/Williams/Noah
C Garrison/Moreno

I’d like to see us add another backup PF, but then that means finding room for Williams and Noah at the 3. If you can play Williams and Noah at the 4 (small ball lineup), then there’s less of a logjam on the wings.

Like that lineup a lot but would like a defensive force/bruiser at C

I read Yates Bio, it says his cousin is on Washington's staff.
Also, his cousin (Quincy Pondexter) was on the Washington staff 2021-24 and left with Yates and went to USC. So its not his cousin thats the draw to UW. Still don't understand the Dad to UW connection.

Right so based on what is Kentucky even involved here? We do this for every guy who enters the portal. Show me something legit (not you specifically)
Well if jones is hinting at him then Kentucky is interested and will the
