laugh my *** off if that happened. I would love to see him out of the SEC as well

This is exactly what I said would happen and exactly what I hope happens. Chizik without Malzahn is just Chizik, and I don't think that's a good thing for Auburn...or Newton.

This would be huge for anyone that wants to see a Western Division Champion outside of the state of Alabama anytime soon. Auburn is absolutely racking up in recruiting right now and it's likely the hype that Malzahn's offense causes. Players love that scheme. There's no way they continue what they have been doing on the recruiting trail this year without Malzahn. As you said, Chizik without Malzahn is just Chizik

Not just in recruiting, but in scheme. Malzahn's offense works. Without him, Auburn has to find someoe else, and it's unlikely they'd find someone as good.

but the rumor with their decision to go after Malzahn is that USF is only looking at coaches without buyouts, so their pool of candidates are retreads (Tommy Bowden, Phil Fulmer) and coordinates (Kirby Smart, Malzahn). Malzahn is supposedly the big target, for what it's worth.
