Watching USM and they had a #7 run for a touchdown and they had another #7 return a blocked punt for a touchdown. Two different players. I don't think I have ever seen that.

it's only done if there is absolutely no way those two would be on the field at the same time..

have watched the Auburn game. They have two #2's. Cam Newton and some other guy on defense. It's quite common these days. I don't know if they can be on the field at the same time though.

This is why I read these stupid Boards. No really, I learned something here tonight. I learned that there can be two players with the same # but they can't be on the field at the same time. That is some pretty obscure **** right there. Neat stuff. Well, kind of anyway when you have had a couple shots and you are sitting home alone board as heck.

Not saying it's never happened, but I'm not aware of it. I know it's happened at Mississippi when Goldie was there they also hada #5 on defense. I think it's a ******** rule that a school can have 2 players with the same number, whether they're on the field at the same time or not.

Several numbers are worn by two players.

Mike Hunt and Adrian Marcus are both #45. This was an issue during the Memphis game when the announcers kept saying that Mike Hunt was carrying the ball, when it was in fact Marcus.

Also, Asian Ruff and William Shumpert are both 43. There are at least 3 other shared numbers from glancing at the roster.
