4 of the 12 fans believe USM warrants an invite.

As for the last quote, I wanted to point out that this was within the week that we blasted Memphis and were ranked #19 or so.
Edited to say that a lot of you 17tards didn't get that this was a joke on how even Ole Miss/Auburn aren't even the most delusional fanbases out there.

<div class="messagebody"></div><h4><span style="font-weight: normal;">I
understand that I will get blasted for saying this but why are we not
discussing USM as the 14th member of the SEC? They would be competitive
in football, in the top half in baseball, and nobody gives a crap about
SEC bball outside of Kentucky. The other non-revenue sports would fit
right in with every other school in the SEC.</span>
</h4><div class="messagebody">The geographic
footprint makes perfect sense. They have the facilities that are
already within reach of SEC standard or have the capacity for that kind
of improvement.
And don't tell me that usm couldn't compete in
recruiting bc you can't measure the impact that SEC revenue sharing
would have on a school as close to big time as usm can be on recruiting.

I understand the argument about a 3 team state and fans...however
It works for the ACC and the artist formerly known as the big 12
http://mbd.scout.com/mb.a...34&t=7890370&p=1if USM was to join the SEC, it wouldn't take long for them to pass up
state or Ole Miss in athletics. The only advantage they have over USM
is the SEC. Hattiesburg has way more to offer compared to Oxford or
Starkville. They are already competitive in recruiting against them. In
the end they do lose out on the best recruits but if all were in the
SEC, I see USM out recruiting both state and ole miss in all sports.
