So, talking about Fifa made me interested in seeing some of our Key Players Ratings and Potential----

Jordan Morris- 67---80
Christian Pulisic- 65---85
John Brooks- 77---84
Matt Miazga- 72---85
Fabian Johnson- 78---79
DeAndre Yedlin - 71---80
Lyndon Gooch- 63---79
Darlington Nagbe- 74---78
Bobby Wood - 71---79
Julian Green - 67---77
Emerson Hyndman - 64---77
Gyasi Zardes- 72---78
Kellyn Acosta- 67---78
Kekuta Manneh - 69---82

And that's just Fifa 16's ratings...no telling what Fifa 17 will be. You gotta think with Pulisic and Green solidifying spots for the two best teams in Germany that they would get an upgrade as well as Brooks and Wood...I think Fabian Johnson deserves a slight upgrade as well as Zardes. Bottom Line is we have a ton of young talent with a lot of potential. Jurgen just needs to maximize that potential. If they continue to develop, the potential of a front 3 of Wood, Pulisic and Green with Nagbe behind them makes me giddy and would fit really well with a counter-attacking style of play. We have WCQ in early September against St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and Trinidad....We should seal advancing to the Hex against St. Vincent and those two would be perfect to inject a lot of youth into the team.

I agree though that there needs to be a youth movement on the national team....We didn't qualify for Confederations cup, so the only other competition we have to prepare for 2018 Russia is the Gold Cup.

Chelsea looking good under Conte.... Hazard looks possessed. I do think if they can get Lukaku he would be a better fit than Costa....even though Costa is no slouch...

Pulisic isn't starting for BD & may be on way out.

Duh, I never said he was starting....he is 17....but he gets minutes off the bench quite frequently. The problem is Dortmund brought in Gotze, Dembele, Schurrle and Emre Mor....he only should move if he goes to another well established club in a top division. Going to a team like Hull City or something like that isn't a smart move. He is still extremely young and Dortmund has one of the best training staff in the world. I do wish DeAndre Yedlin would either go on loan or be sold...he won't see the light of day at Tottenham.

^ Swansea had plenty of chances but never could get a goal.

Now we start our hell stretch of games next at Leicester. Probably going to be the end of October before Swansea sniff any points.

Didn't realize next week starts the international break that contains some massive WCQ matches... especially in South America... Just a few:

Brazi @ Ecuador
Uruguay @ Argentina
Chile @ Paraguay
Brazil v. Colombia

Brazil has virtually no time to breathe after winning gold. They currently sit outside top 5 ( which is what's needed to qualify) with some tough games.

Hopefully USMNT gets a win vs. St. Vincent and Guatemala loses advancing us to the Hex...and making the Trinidad game fun in Florida...

Hope Solo suspended 6 months from USWNT. Doubt she will come back from this. Her same old song and dance has gotten old.

I agree. The Olympics plus all her off the field crap with child abuse etc is just too much. It cracks me up her citing the 1st amendment...Yes, the first amendment let's you say what u want, but it doesn't exempt you from consequences or backlash.

There is some intrigue with me with this roster selection; I'm a little unlike alot of the chronic critics of Klinnsman in that I don't get too wrapped around the axle on tactics, formations, et al. But I find:

1. ...the omission of Gooch is a headscratcher because it bleeds back into LB and the constant question about where to put Fabian Johnson. His admission would suggest that Johnson will be slid forward, but...

2. the lack of cap tying and calling up Jorge Villafana as the LB suggests either Villafana is holding out for the Mexican Nat'l squad or hasn't been invited, but:

3. Kellyn Acosta getting the nod suggests perhaps he's a LB candidate, but he's really a box to box mid in the Bradley sense as he was deployed in the Copa America, to mixed success (i.e. disaster against Argentina, success somewhat against Ecuador). He's played some LB with the U20s, but he's best as a CDM.

4. Stanko is a headscratcher, but it's good to see Rubin back after a year off due to injury; he was on the fast track prior to that and was the most potent striker for the U20 group and really formidable back in their World Cup in 2014.

It's good to see Altidore in form and Bobby Wood got his Bundesliga off to a good start with a fantastic goal against Ingolstadt. Their mesh will be interesting, because Dempsey's absence--and career at this point--may be in jeopardy due to irregular heartbeat issues.

What about Julian Green? Is he playing for US or nah?

Julian Green wasn't selected and there's already been a roster change; John Brooks is out due to a back injury, Sacha Klijestan back in (making perfect sense since Bradley is sitting the first game due to yellow card accumulation) for the first time in years.

Carlo Ancelotti loves Julian Green. Saying he and Kingsley Coman and becoming mirror images of each other. I really like the sound of that.... Coman is a beast.

So, me and a buddy were talking about a couple of things the other day and I'd figure Id post the questions on here just to see what you all think...

1st: Whats the greatest national team you have ever seen play? For me, its 2002 Brazil. Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Roberto Carlos, Rivaldo, Cafu, Edilson, Kaka....jeeeezzzeeee

2nd: Who is the best player in your lifetime you have seen play (not necessarily in person)? For me, I go Ronaldo. And I think a very underrated player all time is Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Nice goal by Wood followed by a fortunate bounce for Besler.... 2-0.... Looks like we will take care of business fairly easily, just need T&T to take care of Guatemala and onto the Hex we go...

I like that lineup - only missing a couple of players but glad to see Pulisic start and want to see how he and the rest of the frontline do while playing together for at least a half.

The ease with which Pulisic plays the game on that left wing is surreal; his ability to make crosses with his left foot really stresses the defensive right in the final third. He's a ballsy kid.

Some really good free flowing play at of the US in the second half; a healthy Altidore makes a big impact and Kljestan fit right into things after few years of not making appearances for the USMNT.

Just think, our best player is still playing out of position :)
