Was at Nippert last night for that game. Wow, just wow. Great atmosphere, great game, respectable result. Even the Crystal Palace coach was floored at the turnout. Crystal Palace is just another level of skill...we couldn't do anything with Zaha. We also couldn't et a corner kick to land in the box lol. Could've scored early in 2nd half....made it 1-1.... That place would've been nuts if we tied it up.

I wonder how much they had to pay CPFC to play.

Pretty crazy that UEFA Champions League qualifying is already under way. How about Celtic FC losing to a semi pro team Lincoln Red Imps FC. Probably not the way Brendan Rodgers want to start his run as Celtic boss.

One month until the Premier League season gets going. Will be nice to have that back on weekend mornings.

The Premiere League is gonna be so entertaining this year.

You have literally some of the world's best managers. Pep Guardiola at Man City, Jose Mourinho at Man United, Antonio Cante at Chelsea, Arsene Wenger at Arsenal, Klopp at Liverpool, Tottenham's coach is very solid and them you have teams like West Ham, Southampton, and Stoke you can't take lightly. I can't wait for the Manchester Derby.... Especially if Man U gets Pogba.

The team everyone is sleeping on is Chelsea....Conte showed me in the Euro's he is a brilliant schematic manager. They signed a new really nice striker and just got Ngolo Kante from Leicester. Plus they still have an amazing roster. A defense with Kante, Matic, Cahill, Zouma and Courtois in goal is a damn good defense.....not to mention they still have Willian, Hazard, Oscar, Pedro, Costa, Fabregas, just bought Batshuai a 20 goal scorer and. Are getting Juan Cuadrado back from loan from Juventus.... Chelsea is the deepest team in the PL IMO.

- Caught 2 of the 3 MLS games yesterday. The 2nd half of Portland-Seattle was really fun.

- Jack Harrison had a great goal for NYCFC.

- I gotta eat crow on FC Cincinnati. I gave them grief for stuff early, but that organization knows what it is doing. 35,000 for a scrimmage against Crystal Palace is crazy.

FYI the US U-19 team gagged itself at a tournament in Spain. Coming off a 1-0 victory over the host nation, they needed a win against Bahrain to advance to the semifinals. Not even sure Bahrain had won a game.

After dominating the first half and leading 1-0, the US came out in the second half with defensive lapses and lost 3-1. The end of the game was mired by a fight as well.

Not sure what to say. Bahrain may have gotten 3 shots on goal and scored all 3. Not a good start for new U-19 coach Brad Friedel.

saw that... just total collapse

I cant believe the BPL is 10 days away and I cannot wait. Im so interest to see the Manchester Derby - Guardiola v. Mourinho.... Its going to be interesting to watch the battle for top four. How does Chelsea rebound? How does Leicester fair in Champions League and follow up... I think Man City, Man U and Chelsea finish 1-2-3, but that 4th spot will be interesting to see who fills it. Will Arsenal take it or is it the year Tottenham finally finish above Arsenal.... then you have teams Like Liverpool or a West Ham that can challenge.... Its going to be so competitive.

So how do you guys think the top four in the Premier League will shape out?

Seeing a lot of people going with Man City to win it with a mix of Man U, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Chelsea rounding out the other 3 spots.

Not really sure what to expect out of Swansea this season - seeing Ayew go to West Ham and Ashley Williams off to Everton in the span of 24 hours is tough, especially Williams who has been captain the past few years.

Right now my Top 4 is:

1) Man U
2) Chelsea
3) Man City
4) Tottenham

The team I really cannot gauge is my Gunners. If we don't get a goal scorer and at least a defender or two... I am gonna be worried. But If Wenger can get Mustafi and close on Icardi or Maybe Lacazette I think they go top 4. Personally my dream would be Mahrez friggin gets smart and leaves Leicester... Id Love this:

Cech
Monreal, Mustafi, Koscielny, Bellerin
Cazorla, Xhaka
Mahrez, Ozil, Alexis
Lacazette

With a bench of:

Ramsey, Giroud, Mertesacker, Gabriel, Wilshere, Ox-Chamberlain, Welbeck, Campbell, Iwobi, Coquelin, Elneny

We have the money to make it happen..... just gotta friggin do it!

So I got to looking at Swansea's schedule and after playing @ Burnley and hosting Hull City to start the season there is brutal stretch from Aug 27th - Oct 15th:

@ Leicester, Chelsea, @ Southampton, Man City, Liverpool, @ Arsenal

Sheesh... Hopefully can get 6 points to start the season, but playing at Burnley is a tough way to start the season.

On the plus side they did complete the signing of Borja Bastón - scored 18 goals in La Liga last season. So hopefully they have addressed the lack of a goal scorer, now just need a replacement for Williams on defense.

That's a big signing for Swansea....ESPN reporting now that Arsenal are on the verge of signing Mustafi from Valencia. We need high quality defender badly. We also just went back for Mahrez with a 42mil offer.... He and Leicester are dumb if they don't take that....

Huge signing. We needed to have a legit goal scorer and now we have Baston, along with Fernando Llorente up front. Still hope we can find a replacement for Williams before this window closes.

Read that Arsenal is also in talks to possibly sign Bony from Man City. I always liked him and felt like he never had a fair shake there.

I like Bony. I just don't see him fitting in with how Arsene Wenger plays tactically. Apparently we put in a 60million bid for Lewandowski. Weird enough, he has yet to sign a new contract with them....I know it's a long shot but if we landed him I might pass out. We apparently are gonna make a play for Griezmann in the area of 75 million.

Jesus, just saw the pre-Liverpool presser and Wenger said our likely starting CB will be Rob Holding who we just got from Bolton Wanderers and Calum Chambers..... Yeah, against a team who like to really pressure the back line, that doesn't inspire confidence....

Hull beats the defending PL champs... just like everyone predicted.

Great having the Premier League back. Makes for a pretty enjoyable morning to sit back, have a cup of coffee and watch some games.

Plus it helped that Swansea were able to start the season on the right foot. Next week host Hull.... that doesn't look as easy a game & 3 points as it did 14 hours ago.

How bout dem Gunners! :flush:

'Pool looked dangerously fast in attack.

I mean I give Liverpool credit for beating our B team... We were without Giroud, Koscielny, Ozil, and didn't even start our best CDM pairing in Xhaka and Cazorla and Liverpool still barely won. That's what you get when you start a CB pairing that consists of two 1st time starters together and 1 coming from a championship level team.

Wenger needs to sign Mustafi ASAP. It was a little disappointing but we are fine IMO.

Liverpool has to get a LB other than Moreno. That dude is trash.

Liverpool barely won??? Lol. They scored 4 goals and took Coutinho out. And the game was in London.

Arsenal look like a 4th/6th place team this season. They can't match the firepower or talent of United City or Chelsea.

Every game is important in the PL. You can win or lose the season in the first month. Look at Chelsea the past 2 seasons. Or Leicester last season. Bottom line, you can't get your *** kicked at home in the opener. Not a good look.

I'm not saying it doesn't matter... I'm saying when you look at the team Arsenal winds up using majority of the time this year that will include Giroud, Ozil, Koscielny, Cazorla, and Xhaka playing 70+ minutes.... If you don't think that made a difference against a Liverpool team who started all of their best then you are being a little disingenuous...

Again the CB pairing, consisted of Rob Holding, a 20 year old 1st time starter from Bolton Wanderers, a championship level team, Calum Chambers, a 21 year old with 0 starts at CB, neither of them had ever played together and they had Elneny as a CDM in front who had 1 start prior to yesterday...none in the Premier League. Not say I agree with sitting Koscielny and all those guys, but to act like the game would not have been different if they played is dumb.

Well that sounds like a pretty poor decision by Wenger. They got their *** kicked...at home. Not a good look.

I don't disagree with you there. I REALLY liked Thierry Henry's idea on what Arsenal needs to do. He said sign Mustafi, a young CB with pace that will be one of the best defenders in the world in 2-3 years, throw 60 mil at Lacazette (who had a hat trick in his first game for Lyon) and throw 45 at Mahrez. What was the purpose of moving the Emirates stadium if you aren't going to try and act like not only a top team in BPL, but Europe as a whole? He said if you don't get a striker, why not play like France did with Giroud and Griezmann with Giroud and Sanchez? Giroud has great hold up play, is great at coming short and utilizing flicks/1-touch passes/ 1-2's and have one of the handful of WORLD CLASS talents in the BPL in Alexis Sanchez run in behind and have freedom to operate in space? Ozil can literally play ANYWHERE in the midfield... itd look like this:

Cech
Bellerin, Koscielny, Mustafi (hopefully), Monreal
Ramsey, Cazorla, Xhaka, Ozil
Giroud
Alexis

To me that's what Wenger lacks... Adaptability. Sanchez should EASILY get 20 goals... but sticking him solely out on the LW is limiting him. If we miss top 4 this year I hope we fire Wenger and hire Henry. Henry knows Arsenal can be one of the best clubs in the world.

Just saw that Miazga looks to be going out on loan to another PL team. Think that will be good for him. Id rather him go out on loan and get more playing time than to stay at Chelsea and not see the pitch.

I know Swansea is still wanting to add a defender to replace Williams, but I don't know if Miazga would fit what Guidolin is wanting. Probably wants someone with more experience. But you do have American owners and Donovan in that ownership group.

Most reports right now link them with trying to land Iceland defender Ragnar Sigurdsson.

We have a very good pool of high class CBs, so much so that playing time for Miazga this year is paramount; as it applies to USMNT where four CBs were carried to Brazil for WC2014, it's going to be critical that he get on the field. You know Cameron and Brooks are playing at good situations for themselves (though the Hertha coach seems like a bit of a barrier for Brooks with the National Team), Gonzalez has thrived in Liga MX and we'll see how Besler goes in the next year. I'm still a little skeptical that Carter-Vickers is going to play with the USMNT, because he's still so young and that English callup is a realistic possibility if he sees the field with any consistency at Tottenham. That's seems like a good starting pool to work with. In two years a couple of those names might even get to 80 on a Fifa 2018 game :)

I agree it's a nice pool to choose from. A guy to also keep your eye on is Kekuta Manneh... Plays for the Whitecaps. Very technically gifted and has electrifying pace and ability to take guys 1v1...he is 20 but he is a guy that is in the process of applying for US citizenship. JK really likes him. By 2018 we could have a plethora of pacey, technical guys to choose from up top in Pulisic, Wood, Julian Green (who earned a first team spot for Bayern and Ancelotti is raving about), Zardes and possibly a couple others.

Speaking of Fifa i did a career with Sunderland and have Brooks, Miazga, Yedlin on my back line. I'm in year 3 with moderate training and their respective rankings are 83,83,81. Also have Bobby Wood as my striker and he is 79.

...and it doesn't hurt that Lyndon Gooch saw the field as a LW yesterday--and acquitted himself pretty well--with Sunderland. I'm familiar with Manneh and Morris is adapting pretty well to Dempsey's return and had been providing good service to Dempsey; of course with Lodeiro coming onboard Morris' role has become almost more Striker oriented over the free roaming Dempsey.

The kids have to start getting on the field; I was excited to see that Johannson is back at Bremen and close to seeing the field again. I'm still a little skeptical with Zelalem, he's in kind of an in between spot. The timing of Emerson Hyndman's ankle injury in preseason was tough because he was close to seeing the field with Bournemouth and CMs are something we are in short supply of with the USMNT.

With regard to FIFA...I've only recently found the Classic XI's and love matching them up against a Premier League foe. Voller and Cantona together above Zico and Leonardo is lethal. Voller's hair is right out of a late 70's porn flick.
