Even Lonnie T. tried for several years talking to the big boys in the ACC and Big 12 about a home and home, or even a home for them, neutral court in Jackson contest, but many of these schools would rather play Cornell and Davidson. Just sayin'.

We don't have a big enough name to draw a lot of people to Starkville. A few teams have done it - Oklahoma, Xavier, Mizzou. But most won't come to our campus, and (rightly so) we should expect that or at least expect them to play us at a neutral site. Even Xavier wanted a 3rd neutral game before coming to Starkville. We will never (and should never) ***** ourselves out and play one and done road games. We are in the goshdamn SEC and should never allow that in any sport. Sorta like our football scheduling. Remember all the love-fest between us and Notre Dame after the baseball regional? There's a reason that didn't develop into a future football game, and it's because ND would not come to Starkville unless we went to South Bend twice.

That's why we don't play KU or UNC or Duke. I would love to play them, but it ain't gonna happen unless they agree to come to campus or play us somewhere neutral.

you don't know they're gonna have an off year. Plus we schedule Kentucky and Florida and Arkansas which all have nat'l championships on their resume every year. Can't wait to see Wall come to the Hump. He will be as fun to watch as, Dominique, Barkley, Olojuwan, Chris Jackson. We don't have a problem w/ strength of schedule. We just need to advance in the good years.

if we (or they) weren't in the SEC, Kentucky would never set foot in the Hump. That's what we're dealing with when trying to schedule these powerhouse programs.

for years begging us for a chance to play them. I understand we turned down a chance to host the NBA All Star Game at the Hump as well.
