The church is the richest church in the world. That's a tall order to accomplish. Those PE guys might learn some lessons about shrewd business deals from the Mormons.
1000000000% agree. Helmets will be manufactured by one of their other holdings and 3 minutes into a game start melting in a rainstorm.Up to this point, I haven't been one to whine and sob alongside the "I'm done with college football/basketball" crew, but I think I'm about done with college football/basketball
With the possible exception of The Church of Scientology, but yes, they are very wealthyThe church is the richest church in the world. That's a tall order to accomplish.
I wish we’d try something cutting edge like this. What do we have to lose? Let a Saudi Prince own our athletics. Man City fans seem to be having fun.
Just wait until the Scientologist get into coaching football.****The church is the richest church in the world. That's a tall order to accomplish.
With as many wives as they all have, you would think that they would all be flat broke. Shopping on Amazon must be forbidden....The church is the richest church in the world. That's a tall order to accomplish.
Wat?The church is the richest church in the world. That's a tall order to accomplish.
We do have an islamic punter coming in next year…I wish we’d try something cutting edge like this. What do we have to lose? Let a Saudi Prince own our athletics. Man City fans seem to be having fun.
The LDS Church is one of the largest land owners in the United States. They own over 2 million acres. Most of that is farm land so it’s probably worth somewhere between 6-8 billion dollars.Wat?
How is the Catholic Church not exponentially wealthier?
Is this some asterisk type stat where the Catholic Church's vast land, hospitals, educational institutions, etc etc across the world arent even countable, or are viewed as being separate from one another based on region or Archbishop or whatever?
I admittedly know 0 about which church is bigger and it's a dick swinging contest that I want nothing to do with.
But since its been mentioned, just gotta say that I am shocked.
I think the Catholic Church is broken into separate area. The Mormon Church has around 17 million members. No one in the church get paid. All tithing money is invested in which the returns go to fund the church. When you see a new 20-million-dollar Temple built the church pays cash for it. There is no debt.Wat?

Michigan has one billionaire (Ellison maybe) and Indiana has Mark Cuban.I've kinda been wondering why some of these billionaires financing the Collectives don't just try to set up an endowment. For about $1.5 Billion you could guarantee over $50 MM per year in revenue for NIL. That may not be enough in a few years, but it beats having constant fund raisers. Even a lower endowment would be nice, just to ensure a certain level of money available annually.
Of course, the Collectives still need to hold fund raisers, since they pay the athletes to promote the fund raisers.
My question is, what regular fan is having fun at this point? Who is asking for more of this?Up to this point, I haven't been one to whine and sob alongside the "I'm done with college football/basketball" crew, but I think I'm about done with college football/basketball
All this went well above everyone on heres pay grade. Except for Fishwater**My question is, what regular fan is having fun at this point? Who is asking for more of this?

Ok, cool- interesting info. That tracks with one of my two guesses- the Catholic church has exponentially more wealth around the world, but it isnt centralized and basically can't be calculated.I think the Catholic Church is broken into separate area. Damn, now I have an odd topic to hyperfocus on and lose time over- the wealth of churches around the world.
Just wait until Disney and Netflix own the broadcasting rights to all collegiate sports...This can only result in lower ticket prices and lower debt load for the university**
If you think Mark Jones is awful, I can only imagine what that broadcast would sound like in a couple of years.Just wait until Disney and Netflix own the broadcasting rights to all collegiate sports...
You won the internet today. You can start with Cam’s dad’s
Wonder if the players will still be required to be students. We're likely heading to a minor league team representing the school, with no requirement to be a student, at least in football and basketball. Might still be limited to 4, maybe 5, years but that's it. That'll hurt the true student-athlete.Can’t say I’m surprised Natural progression of the state of the game
It also might hurt in terms of, who the hell wants to watch the 19 year olds representing WORLDWIDE UNLIMITED SPORTS FUN LLC play against the VISIONARY CAPITAL GLOBAL FUND team?Wonder if the players will still be required to be students. And if you see a new Catholic Church or church owned building being constructed, rest assured the congregation raised that money and has debt. The Vatican is not paying for any of it.I think the Catholic Church is broken into separate area. The Mormon Church has around 17 million members. No one in the church get paid. Interesting, I wouldn't have guessed that. What rights to the building etc does the Vatican/"central church" have? And if you see a new Catholic Church or church owned building being constructed, rest assured the congregation raised that money and has debt. The Vatican is not paying for any of it.
