Fletcher has 260 yards rushing and sets the career rushing record for USM (and he's a Junior).
Austin Davis (USM's redshirt freshman QB) played well.
However, USM has an awful defense, and they had an awful defense last year. This ain't the Nasty Bunch. They're more like the Nice Guys.

The defense only allowed 382 yards. The problem was it seemed like every time they stopped UTEP they got some kind of penalty on or after the 3rd down play.

UTEP came into Hattiesburg with a 1-3 record, having lost at Buffalo by 42-17 and beaten New Mexico State at home by one point.

...especially his tendency to replace offensive coordinators pretty often.
One of the things that was mentioned was the need to have a coach with a wide-open offensive philosophy, but then I believe the reason USM's not done as well in the past couple seasons has been their defense.

quite frankly....with the glass house we've set up shop in, we're really in no position to be throwing stones.
