Chris Petersen and is expected to offer him their job. Starting to sound like CP is ready to get out of Boise State.

I think he realized he reached the pinnacle of what he could do there a couple of years ago. Smart move on his part.

Yep, you can only go so far with BSU. And if he ever wants to take a shot at coaching in the big leagues, now is the time.

Maybe, maybe not...

People thought the same thing about Dan Hawkins and Dirk Koetter when they left Boise and neither of them did anything as head coaches in the P12

You're right about Hawkins (especially since he was coaching in the Big 12 and I want to think the Big 12 North was the weaker of the two divisions). I don't know if I'd have fired Koetter in '06 as he did have a winning record at Arizona State and took the Sun Devils to four bowl games & Dennis Erickson only went to two bowl games in five years (with his best season in '07, a tie for the conference title with players largely recruited by Koetter).

Colorado registered P12 in my brain.. but yeah.. my point is the same.. Koetter was above .500 in conference play twice and it's not like the P12 was the strongest conference back then.

To think he could’ve had the MState job if only he’d struck while the iron was hot.** Now he’ll have to settle for Washington instead.**

The Washington job or a similar one in that geographical area may be the one he's been waiting for for some time. He seems to be geographically limited to the northwest.
