It is at least a little sad at how fast this fire burned out. Franklin could have probably played for an SEC title very soon, and with a four school playoff, even a national title game wasn't out of reach.

Making the jump from 3-4 wins to 7-9 wins is impressive, especially at Vandy or State for that matter, but the jump from 7-9 up to 11-12 wins is far, far more difficult. Apparently this guy just thinks this progression they've made over the last three years was just going to continue.

I think almost every coach in the SEC, except maybe Stoops and Beilima because of personnel changes, wins 8 or 9 games this year at Vandy.
