Learned this morning that Varina will not be playing Armstrong or Lee-Davis in 2019. Armstrong and Lee-Davis requested to discontinue the longstanding rivalries.

Varina will play Manchester and they are still looking to fill two more dates.

I wonder if LD wants to end it's relationship with HSHS too. They did forfeit the jv game this year, last minute.

I don't understand this logic.... There is no penalty for playing down the VHSL took care of that a couple of years ago. Why not play a competitive state contending 4A that can give you a lot of points?

Just a heads up for you @CRF4Dan ,HSHS will not be installing their turf field til AFTER the new school is built in 3 years. It was decided,it would be a bad idea until then,because the field will be in a different direction from its current position. Just a little INFO for you.
Btw...great write up on the HSHS State Semi. Can you post when/if you hear anything about Christian White’s appeal?!

Makes sense that it would be delayed. I imagine Tucker's will be delayed as well since they are getting a new school too. I had not heard anything till now but I wondered if that might happen when the news of the new schools came about.

It will be perpendicular to the existing field. I’ve gotn info on JRT but nothing solid yet. Possibly 2 yrs of away games,but not concrete yet

The good thing for HSHS and Tucker is, not only are we getting new turf fields, we are getting a whole new stadium out of it!

Henrico was scheduled for 2019 and I see no reason why that will be changed... So I gotta believe maybe Godwin and Deep Run take the placer of Tucker and Highland Springs... Have not heard much more chatter since.
