With the the score tied at 14, Henrico forced and recovered a fumble deep in Varina territory with less than a minute to play, 4th & goal at the 3, Henrico scored and won this hard fought affair. Great game!!

If they played Manchester vs Bird again I think Manchester wins it. But in all honesty Bird should have won this game even though I do think Manchester is slightly better and more of a balanced team. Bird dropped 2 FOR SURE TD’s last drive!

Bird should have won, but there was a lot of positives. The line played great, over 300 yards rushing and gave the QB time to throw when needed. They have speed at receiver and the QB is sneaky good. The defense played well. They put pressure on Clarke all night and only gave up a few big plays. I feel bad for the kid who dropped the 2 passes but I got a feeling he will make up for it next week. The streak has to come to an end sometime but not this year. I got Bird over Monacan in a close one.

@BirdFan15 C.J. Donaldson is an incredible back and maybe the best in the area. If he was a little bigger he’d be a major D1 prospect.

We’ve got a good one too in Korey Bridy and Fludd is starting to throw receivers open again. Monacan is well balanced.

It boils down to can Monacan stop the Bird run.

I think the streak ends next Friday.

You always have that little reservation with Monacan in the back of your head... I honestly can’t blame you based on the mountain of evidence against us in this one. I just won’t sit up here and say we are going to lose at 7-0 at home after a 18 year drought with an opportunity to win the district and finish undefeated for the first time in school history.

I honestly don’t know what is going to happen. This matchup intrigues me. I feel like Bird is more balanced than they have been in a while but only bc they need to be.

We need our two 6’2 225lb linebackers to stuff that run. Our D is better than Manchester’s and we are a better running team than Manchester. Passing is debateable. We can line up and play power ball too.

I have a feeling this one might get chippy at times.

Lord knows....If we ever needed one this is it!

In order for HS to inch closer to claiming a 1 seed, we need LD to beat Varina and Henrico! Because Hermitage played both VHs and HHS. Manchester beating them coupled with that scenerio would do it!
