Veazey is such an Ole Miss fan in hiding hack...

Veazey obviously only writes and shares stuff that's negative about State.

I'm working on a Sunday story that'll explore Dan Mullen's effort to sell himself, his program, and his ideas to Mississippi State fans. I just transcribed an 11-minute interview with Mullen that took place as we were rolling south on U.S. Highway 45 about 8:30 last night, a 14-hour, two-stop day on the Road Dawgs tour nearing an end.

I thought I'd share a portion.

But this isn't Mullen I'm sharing. This is where athletic director Greg Byrne asked if he could pipe in. Of course, he was granted the floor.

"I've been fortunate to be around a few different coaches, and coach Mullen understands the marketing piece and promotion piece of his program as well as any head coach that I've ever been around and handles it like he's been a head coach for 20 years," Byrne said. "... That's important for us, and we're very fortunate to have that type of approach from our head football coach."

Among the coaches with whom Byrne has directly worked: Mike Bellotti, Dennis Erickson, Rich Brooks.
