I'll admit I was beginning to put stock in the thought that Veazey was putting a negative spin on all things MSU. This article could have easily been spun into a negative light since it regards yet another basketball transfer. but Veazey definitely put the transfer into a good light (does that make sense, since, cents). Is Veazey caving into message board pressure?

.....there is alot out there on Sidney. It's newsworthy. If you don't want negative press, don't sign a kid like that. When he starts writing opinion pieces, let me know.

"Annual MSU basketball exodus continues" By the way, I wouldn't consider myself a CL conspiracy theorist. I don't really care how a newspaper reports news that I have usually known for a least a day from reading message boards and I have already formed my opinion on it.

I don't think Veazey believes he's putting any spin on the news. He's simply reporting the news. Those people who believe that MSU is the land of sunshine and rainbows need to wake up. It's a dream. Negative stuff happens at MSU just like everywhere else in the world.

news he reports as I do a lot of the positives he seems to choose to ignore or omit. The Sidney situation is a perfect example. Its fine to spew out all the questions and concerns on Sidney's eligibility status and the UCLA/USC reservations on him but that doesn't preclude him from spending at least equal or more time talking about the potential the MSU basketball team will have with a program-changing talent like Sidney on board. No doubt the guy tends to always focus just on the negative. And no, him reporting on our golf team making the NCAAs for 2 years in a row doesn't help my feelings any.

Virgil, on the subject of negative headlines, most often Veazey and other writers never write a headline. They send the story in and a desk editor writes the headline according to space. Not arguing your opinion on his style of writing, but having some background on this subject, I think some folks don't realize writers rarely write their own headlines.</p>

That's an issue of facts and opinions. The facts are Sidney has a semi-checkered history. Opinion is that he will have a postive impact on our W-L record.
