Veazey's post game comments are very interesting.

I can't believe that Stansbury wanted to slow it down the whole game. The only way we can score is in transition. Most of our turnovers came when we were in a half court set. We were making crappy post feeds and/or BJ was fumbling it. Unbelievable. Stans is an idiot if he thinks we need to slow it down.

The fact that Johnson was telling Stans that Kodi was ready to go, I just find that interesting.

I can't recall a time where a player would tell a coach that a teammate was ready to go. Im sure it happens, but it just doesn't seem to be the right place for it during the game.

that the inmates run the damn asylum.

This is my chief complaint with Stans.

and most of those were because he was in too big of a hurry. Stans was trying to slow him down some.

This is his first full year playing point guard and by most accounts he has done a pretty good job. He will only get better.

the lines of communication between the coaches and players on all of Stans's team have been pretty open. I think you, me and most of us have interpreted that at one time or another as you said, players running the asylum. Would Brian have said that to a Coach K, Bobby Knight or Roy Williams? Probobly not. Since it made it to Veazys blog there may be reprocutions for it but if it had gone unnoticed I doubt it would even be an issue as far as Stans is concerned. It still may not be.

I think anybody that was close to the team for the past few years could tell you that Stans was pretty much afraid of J. Gordon. He did whatever he wanted. Other players had to see this and think they could pull the same ****. Maybe Kodi is one of them. Maybe Brian is one of them.

...although I doubt 10 more points, but can believe 4-5 more. I'd like to see a stat line next year from him of:

16 points, 7 assists, 2 steals, and 2 turnovers. Driving the lane is the most effective way of creating an opportunity for an assist, and that is innately a little more risky, so I would never expect him to have close to just 1 turnover.

and being up tempo than we are settling for a half court game. We went on droughts when they forced us to run half court offense. When we do that, our best look is usually a really deep three or hoping Ravern can just jump over the guy guarding him. We get pushed out and making even the simplest pass becomes a chore.

If we can't score in transition, then we are screwed.. Stans has no clue how to run an offense, except motion, and we don't do that very well.
Last night we let Tenn set the tempo and you see how that worked out.

...once again we have proof that the players don't respect the man. Rampant transfers, players telling the coach when somebody else is ready to go in. Ridiculous. My chief complaint too.

I can't imagine telling my former basketball coach during a game that another player was ready to go in the game.

It would be one thing if the player saying it was a team leader, and even that probably wouldn't fly, but a bench warmer telling the coach who he should put into the game? That SOB wouldn't be playing for a long time.
