He has heard from folks that a big factor there's no resolution is a lack of progress from the NCAA on a repayment plan.

that Veazey enjoys reporting the negative about Miss. State. And, we all know, perception is reality. So I don't think he gets a bad rap for reporting the negative but rather for the fact that many people perceive him as enjoying reporting the negative and begrudgingly reporting the positive. True or false...that seems to be the case.

Would that be a violation of NCAA rules?

Oh

Then maybe he shoudln't get the money that way.

Scratch that suggestion.

Isn't there a bank in Rosedale? Benoit?

Maybe ...

oh well, there's always tips at sonic

Someone should check the Bryan hot dogs at the Piggly Wiggly because apparently Sidney hasn't.

I don't think I ever actually believed it. I can't believe that they are actually going to succeed in postponing this for an entire year. Oh wait, this is the NCAA we're talkin about.

if anybody has ever heard him live its easy to understand that he is just, for the most part, a rather cynical, negative person and that naturally comes across in his writing. And given his OM background I'm sure he enjoys the occassional dig at us. His reporting on us is strictly his job and I certainly don't believe he has a lot of built in fondness for us.

I understand (some of) the issues with Veazey, but I don't understand this one. There are peopleevery year that graduate from schools they don't care about or actively dislike, and Oxford probably has more than its fair share of them b/c of the large % of people there that are delusional enough to think UM is anything other than a decent, relatively cheappublic university. Why is it so hard to believe that Veazy is one of them?

so at this point I'm kind of rooting for it to drag out all year, sidney goes pro, and THEN, once he's no longer affiliated with us and we can't get in any kind of trouble over it, he sues the absolute **** out of them and wins in a high profile case that hangs the stink on the NCAA for years to come.

is a rougue group that does WHATEVER they want WHENEVER they want to WHOEVER they want. They really answer to noone but themselves so if they want to make an example of you they have full power to do so without ANY real justification being provided.

I meant he could earn he money he owes in a few nights through tips at Sonic if he could play once he paid back the money. I'd tip nicely for my brown bag special with #2 burger, tater tots and diet dr pepper. Even more if I ordered a strawberry shake. Even more if he brought some ketchup without me having to ask.

but I figure it logical to think that "most people" who attend UM develop some measure of dislike for MSU and vice versa. No big stretch there.

Read the documents that were released a couple of weeks ago. Mom and Pop Sidney took out a $50k line of credit that they've since converted into a long term loan. Apparently they've not provided to the NCAA any evidence that they've been paying on the loan. According to a tweet from Veazey today, this is one of the main reasons why the NCAA has not made a ruling.

Why would they need to come up with a repayment plan if he wasn't ever going to be able to play?

Damnit.. fail on my part I guess.
I swore we had a football player arrested for counterfeiting bills and he bought a burger at sonic to get change..and once drove off and left the burger or something.

I don't know how they normally deal with this, but if they really want to 17 him, they could require the Sidney's to show some sort of credible plan to repay the $50K in no more than 2 years. Or maybe they could condition it on it being repaid prior to him playing.

I hadn't heard that. I guess that's another option.

It could work now that I think about it.

one set of official NCAA documents, and don't recall any specific monetary amounts.
Meanwhile, Veazey's twitter could be referring to only the trip, or the Reebok goods. There's certainly nothing specific in it.

All I remember was that he had to repay for atrip and the extra Rebook stuff. I don't see how they can make the Sidneys pay backa line of credit, it is not in Renardo Junior's name.
