I'm ready to see Samwell kick ***, the Imp manipulate, and more nude scenes of the Dragon Queen.

THREAD HIJACK: Finished the last book yesterday

I'll be honest, I could use a hug. However, I am excited to see how the greatness that is Storm of Swords is brought to the show. It should take every bit of two seasons.

I'm legitimately concerned he'll die before finishing the series. And that would suck. I'm still working on A Feast for Crows, but I'm freakin' hooked. And I absolutely loathe Cersei.

The only knock I have against the show is that they've made Cersei way too sympathetic. Sure she loves her kids in the books too, but she never has any doubts about whether what she and Jaime did was wrong. Her only redeeming quality is that she loves her kids. That's it.

The only other gripe I have

Is that they made Daenerys way too vulnerable, to the point of almost stupidity. In the books, she makes some questionable decisions in order to do what she thinks is right for her people, but she's also extremely clever when dealing with evil and power. Getting her dragons stolen was stupid.

As someone who went through the same ordeal with Robert Jordan, I REALLY hope he doesn't die. Also, for those of you who read the books, the third book has been split into two seasons which I consider to be a very, very good thing. There is just too much stuff that happens in this one to cram it all into one season.

^^^THIS. EXACTLY THIS.^^^

My brother gave me the first book in the Wheel of Time series when we were kids and I devoured it. I asked for the rest of the books and he said the writer wasn't done writing them yet, and I'll never forget saying "Well screw that, anything could happen! That guy could DIE before he finishes them!" and sure enough, he did.

I still haven't gone back and read the rest of the series even though his son or publisher or whoever finished out the series... would you recommend it?

ZA Reicht died in the middle of his 3rd book in the series of Plague of the Dead. The new writer didn't do a good job of blending.

It's still not done. Final book due out in a year or so. It is being written by Brandon Sanderson (who wrote the last 2) and he is going off of Jordan's notes and manuscripts. Sanderson is a helluva fantasy writer in his on right. The books are alot smoother now with less emphasis on the color of the dresses women are wearing and **** like that. I would recommend reading them. Books 6-10 are tough to trudge through though.

Actually it is done. It was officially published on 1/8/13. The final book is incredible and I highly recommend you pick it up. I just got an autographed copy in the mail today from my brother.

Both

In fact, they both autographed all three of the last books in the series for me. Just disappointed that I never got one signed by the man himself.
