That would be something if Cotton committed and Russell reaffirmed his commitment - stating the same things Cotton said about having 2 good QBs. The more likely situation, given our history, is that we will land neither, but you can always hope. I think you might see Patterson start "talking a little better" then.

He can sell his "I coached Tebow, Smith ect..." stuff now and players will eat it up. If he has a couple of losing / mediocre season the sell will be significantly harder. He has to capitalize on this year and can't afford to wait on one and miss out on both.

I agree. It would be nice to hear something, anything from Russell. I understand he changed his cell # soon after Mullen's visit, which can be a good or bad thing. Hopefully, he is comfortable enough with Mullen that he is ready to end the BS and isn't going to waste his time with the all the calls, but he could also be ready to bolt and doesn't want to see/hear the **** that our fan base threw at Garrett after his decommitment. I am a bit encouraged that he appears to ignoring everyone instead of just the State guys or talking to everyone and telling them all different things. You can bet if Yancy had a quote that could remotely be construed to reflect poorly on MSU he would have posted it instead of just saying what he's heard about the visit.
