I believe this gif from waterboy captures both team's fans current feelings about their 2025 squads

‘Suck’ is both relative and a perception one chooses.

I’m ready for the game as always; let’s lace ‘em up and tee it up. Find out.

At least it should be a close game... or at least we're not going to get blown out. Maybe we blow them out?

The game is shaping up to be one of those games that will probably be competitive and passionate and really mean nothing to anyone outside of either fan base. Clemson is bowl eligible and is playing for a better bowl and for the rivalry. SC has no hope of a bowl and this game could be the season defining win.

I think Clemson has more to lose in this game. Being 6-6 and going to a bottom feeder bowl for a team that was top 5 to start the season and whose coach boasted about being "the first team to go 16-0" and losing to your biggest rival who would not even become bowl eligible by beating you would be gut wrenching. 7-5 isn't a lot better, but they would have the win in their big rivalry game to be happy about and would likely get at least a warm weather bowl.

South Carolina can play much looser, with "house money" so to speak. A loss doesn't really make the season much worse but a win salvages an otherwise abysmal season. There is no bowl to consider, so SC can put everything into this game.

Beamer is probably pretty uptight about this game. His continued employment could hinge on the outcome.

Sounds like Beamer's "we'll be in the playoffs next year" comment. All good points... except that the season won't really be "salvaged" with a win. It'll suck less because we beat Clem, but not going to a bowl in this era is a HUGE fail. Especially for an $8.1 million coach.

If we win, we'll get to claim bragging rights, but the Clemson folks can claim that they're at least going to a bowl and we're not, so it kind of evens out. We don't even get to play spoiler since they're already bowl eligible.

I think both fan bases have moved on to the holidays. But win over Moo U would make the holidays a little more special for sure.

Honestly I think Clemson will air it out and try to run up the score. I don't know if that will happen but I think Dabo's seat is a little warm too and so they'll try their best to run it up. If we make a few mistakes and they smell blood in the water, look for them try to humiliate us. It's us or them and Dabo's going to choose them. So...

If we get blown out, Beamer will be fired. Mark it down.

Beamer has until next year to worry about his playoffs comment. Dabo is munching on his words every day now.

Watch, if we win, there will be plenty of folks crowing about how Beamer has "turned things around" and how he "finished the season strong". He'll be back in everyone's good graces again.

Going to a crap bowl with a 6-6 record as an ACC team who played Furman and Troy as out of conference games and lost to a 7 loss South Carolina team isn't much to be proud of if you are a Clemson fan. I don't think you will hear much out of them at all if we win.

Maybe I heard and have forgotten, but I saw where Lorenzo Ward is on staff at Clemson. Let's hope he has a hand in the D.

It was discussed back in spring of 2024, when he was hired by Clemson, I would bet $$ you posted on the thread, LOL, since you post on most threads, but since he was only a analyst the discussion was short lived, hopefully Dabo copies the Beamer plan with Shula and make him their DC sometime in the near future, :)

Well, not mine. As long as he keeps up the thin-skin act when questioned about the team's shortcomings and then is a smug jerk when we win a big game, he will not be in my good graces. I value humility - in wins and losses. Great coaches demonstrate humility. Posers are hype machines.

Spurrier, Saban, even Kirby. They're not like Beamer/Dabo.

Beamer and Dabo are almost like twin sons of different mothers. They are almost eerily similar in personalities.

Not that it matters, but Clemson at the time of playing has beaten one ranked team Louisville at #20 who is no longer ranked, they lost to a #9 LSU team who is no longer ranked and an SMU team who wasn't ranked but is now #25. We lost to 3 top 10's, an 11 and a 14 at the time of playing them who are now ranked 4 in the top 10's and a 12. With that being said throw those records out the window!
