Point system indeed flawed. First of all nothing against Glenvar. Giles out of district schedule is way better. Glenvar beats a Covington team that Narrows demolished. Guess who demolished Narrows? Glenvar beats Grayson! Giles plays Graham. Hello.
Giles vs my Bruins. I like galax but hey northside beat the tide. I will let cave spring and cburg play next wee for whatever. This is not pointed towards Glenvar the team. More of system is poor. District champs should get higher rating.

Point system not really screwed up Giles lost more games. If they don't like outcome schedule weaker non district games. If a team loses alot of their non district games but beats an undefeated team that wins district doesn't mean they should be seated higher. Then you are basing seeding on one game and not whole season. Giles is rewarded for their tougher schedule by being by far highest seeded two loss team. By this theory say you lose all four non conference games but go undefeated in conference. So a 6-4 team should be seated over a 9-1 team and three 8-2 teams. I know that wouldn't be issue now but opens the door for that possibility. In fact districts do not really exist anymore since VHSL went to New conferences. We just use old districts for scheduling and bragging rights even though they technically do not exist anymore. Like in Gretna as far as VHSL is concerned there is no Dogwood District but Courthouse Conference 34. In all sports with conference tournaments you play them teams not the ones we consider Dogwood even though we still play all them teams the same in other sports like we always did.

doesn’t VHSL make you play conference games? If so, why? just let schools make their own schedules if the conferences have no merit (in football)

I like the idea of being rewarded for winning your district, but that can't and shouldn't happen with the mixed districts we have. The districts are too unequal to do this.

Doesn't Giles still have a chance to be a number #2 if both win out? Giving district champs top seeds in Region doesn't seem fair either as some districts are very weak. Maybe District champs should be given a bonus point at the end of the season to give the teams something to play for. That would reward a team that is less than a point behind but would not let them leapfrog with a 6-4 record.

If it's Glenvar having a potential home game in playoffs against Giles is concerned, I would rather play at Giles. Glenvar seems to play better and are more motivated at your place

It can be any school. District titles should be rewarded!

I dont know how long you have followed football in this state, but before the 16 team playoffs, we had regions like we do now. In some cases, a Region B team would miss out on the playoffs with a 9-1 record because they lost to a bigger classification district champion. Then you look at another Region and there are 4-6 district champion getting in. District champs used to get automatic bid when less than 8 teams got in. So which one do you see as more fair?

In the case you are referring to here, sure it would maybe make sense. But how can you justify it in other cases where a team is just in a bad district and win those games, while a team who is in a really tough district maybe loses a game and has to travel because 1 district is a lot better than the other?
